I have nothing in particular to single out here but I'm just bumping because I like a good Beady rant
I went to Montreal for the F1 race and absolutely loved it. I could never live there because I hate big cities and crowds but it's a gorgeous city, and although I had heard stories of the quebecois being unwelcoming of English speakers, I found them to be overwhelmingly friendly and hospitable.
It really does feel like a different country as opposed to toronto/southern Ontario which in a lot of ways feels like traveling to a different state rather than a different country - Hank Balling
have you been there in late Feb though
miserable as hell with the weather and wind |

Montreal is awesome. We went in the summer but old Montreal was amazing. Cobblestone streets, outdoor dining, tons of entertainment. My daughter and I hiked Mt Royal and the views from up there were fantastic. Def want to go back. |

Most places in Canada are gorgeous in the summer time. The winter time however…ooof. |

I get it. Opposite for you. Fla is great 9 months of the year but the summers are oppressive. I couldn’t do it. |

I run an ice rink (also lived in Buffalo until I was 30).
It’s hot as all hell down here some days. But for me, I flew back home to ref my dads two last college games with him and leaving Florida in late January when it was 73 degrees and landing in Buffalo when it was minus 9 pretty much sold Florida for my wife! |

Pros and cons to every climate. My cousin moved to Scottsdale, I’ve visited twice in Feb and the weather is absolutely perfect. 80s during the day but drops to 50s /60s overnight. But may to oct they are 90/100 plus. I’m in construction management so although I spend a lot of time in the office I also have to visit the job sites. I’ll take a 32 degree day over a 95 degree day to walk a job. |

I lived in Philly for a year back when I was 21. That climate wasn’t awful in the winter time and the summers were nice. But we did get hit with a hurricane coming up the coast on my 21st birthday. That was gross especially when I was working construction at the time.
I love Buffalo summers, but the winters eat people alive mentally. It never bothered me much with all the reffing I was doing, but seasonal depression is legit. |

So the Tkachuk deal was the first sign and trade in NHL history.
The Flames, Panthers and Tkachuk camp worked out a deal with the Flames, he signed it, and they traded him. |

Getting through late February and March feels like a Sisyphian task. On the bright side, October is now a beautiful month thanks to global warming. |

Couldn’t agree more. Summers here are perfect but the winters suck. We don’t see the sun for weeks at a time I feel like
This spring sucked. It was basically winter. It felt so long. I think it snowed in may this spring

I can tell you for a fact it snowed two inches in East Aurora on May 7, 2020. Covid lockdown combined with snow in May was something else. |

Thanksgiving through mid May in Florida (Estero in my case) mid May through thanksgiving in Buffalo (or in my case CT). Throw in a month in St. Andrews anytime from June to September = Nirvana. |

Interesting tweet today from Panthers beat writer.
As the dust settles from the Panthers-Flames blockbuster, I’m told Jonathan Huberdeau isn’t particularly happy with how everything played out.
There were some early, informal extension talks, but Huby’s camp was waiting for an offer that never came. The next call was the trade.

Didn't they have a window or something with his NTC switching to a 8 team and used it. |
