Still don't get Portillo's reluctance. If it is merely the G pipeline with him, Levi and UPL competing; that tells me the Sabres should move him...let's hope he kills it this season, include him in a package at the TDL. - IonSabres
i don't think he will add much if any value in a trade because of his status. |

I brought up that ya'll from Buffalo talking sh!t about Canada yet you live in the arm pit of America (yes you live in florida and spend your days on the web).
You do realize these players come back to Canada in the Summer? Lakes up here are loaded with NHL players
- DirtyDan
Pretty nice down here.
Please, do stay above the border, lol.
Well, I mean come on down to spend your money on vacation so I can continue to live with no State Tax and very low Property Taxes |

he's from jersey,long way from c bus
l mean he took less money to save an hour on a plane ride? - homiedclown
I saw an interview where he explained the decision, they wanted to be closer to home but not too close. I guess he goes back to Jersey in the summer with an open door policy to family and friends, but doesn't want the same distractions during the season. Plus they are starting a family, and they want some space. |

Olo made progress 5-on-5 this year but his primary value is still as the trigger man opposite tall guy on the PP. If Quinn can take Olo's job while on a cheaper bridge deal, then the Sabres will likely take that route and save the money. Just my feeling. - Hank Balling
I appreciate your thoughts.
Kinda feel like drafting 3 forwards (1st round) kinda puts the pressure on resigning in 2 years.
Olo could stay healthy and get hot on the pp for 35 goals next season.
Gotta beat the man to be the man.

you're referring to new jersey. - TheSabresTaco
Buffalo gets a bad rap because people come during rad rat mating season, or have a bad encounter with a feral ghoul, but if you steer clear of the glowing sea and the wharf, there are some nice areas

Comparing the 2 is like comparing public restroom toilets.
Except this one has a bidet to cool your ass off and that one comes with a school shooter

I thought it was a great sign at camp that Portillo had a custom Sabres helmet and pads. Then I read that his equipment was lost on his way to Buffalo and he was wearing whatever spare equipment was lying around harborcenter. Of course. |

A 2 year deal says trade me at the first good opportunity. 50/50 that he's here this time next year. I know that's tough to hear.

I think olo contract is perfect.
He really hasnt put everything together for a full season.
Trade him if you need the cap room to sign the guy that's making him too expensive to keep.
This budget team is only temporary IMO.
I also think were going to be a team this city backs next season. Likeable guy's that win. |

You already hit on why they'll deal him. They are overflowing with replacements that they feel will be better hockey players. They say never trust anyone over 30, he'll be 29 after this deal. It was a smart deal. Now they need to follow up with a smart trade.

If I'm Calgary, I'd retain half and deal Huberdeau at the deadline. A 100+ point winger with a $2.95 cap hit should net an absolute haul.
I get that the Flames' feelings are hurt but selling high is the right move long-term imo |
