Very sad for Bobby. I hope it's just a minor setback for him.

Yep, 9-1 in there last 10. Think there 12gms out now, made up like 4 or 5gms over the last few weeks. Bottom half of the Yankees order other than IKF has been horrible, and dealing with some pitching injuries. Gonna be a fun 2nd half.

our bats are heating up and we finally have a manager who knows how to use the bullpen

"According to reporting from ScoopNashville.com, Ryan was seen taking several items from an airport store without paying. Airport police were given notification of this, setting out searching for Ryan. Abandoning the stolen items on a counter, Ryan ended up entering Little Harpeth Brewing with the police in pursuit. He was found sitting at the bar, awaiting a drink he’d just ordered."

one blessing with tre being out a few more weeks is elam is getting a crash course in coverage by spending a lot of quality snaps up against diggs

Interesting read, very interesting indeed. Thanks for sharing!

This analysis reminds me of several interviews I listened to with Steve Valiquette who runs an advanced analytics company. In the interviews, Steve talks about the work his company does relative to xG models that give more sensitivity to where the "setters" pass originates from on ice relative to the position of the net and the eventual goal scorer. Not surprisingly, cross ice passes, in tight, and from further out as well, result in significantly higher scoring percentages. Kind of a "duh", but models like these are not yet mature enough as the data is not readily available in the public space to consider properly. The new tracking data should go a long way to proving the data necessary.

Now, you're telling me that Comrie may actually be good?
Couldn't tell from the alarmist reactions on here.

It's always important for anyone reading these analytics to realize you're never looking at the whole picture, it's better to interpret them as 'instances', which is why research and development into hockey analytics will probably never end. People are much more informed than we were five years ago and will be much more informed in the next five years.

At least in this juncture, we can say this guy is good in this zone or that zone and he can transition or prevent or shoot or whatever. the stuff that's missing the most is the 'why'. Why is this guy doing what he's doing well. what's the setup to help him fail or achieve? what's he doing or not doing in the instances before the puck reaches his stick, or right before he's about to face a backcheck to prevent a goal. what is the coach asking of the players to make them fail or succeed in specific scenarios?

This philosophy sticks out like a black sheep when a player looks completely different under a different coach or different team.

I am very excited for the upcoming season.
I think the FO is doing a pretty solid job in what they have done so far.

October can't get here fast enough for me.
