Lyubushkin has a nice 1st pass, I have actually been talking him up for a bit. Think he will compliment Power in transition with that. Let Power just play hockey and learn, plus take care of the kid when need be.

Hope he works out with the Russian kids coming along he might be here for awhile

At times he has looked pretty good and other times not as much. I think his success seems to be tied to who he is playing with and the style of play. I thought he looked good at the end of last year. Still.... at worst he is a cheap bottom-pair guy.

Have to know when to move on. They may have already waited too long.

He's not a cheap third pair today.

Possibly. He also hasn’t played a game at 23 years or older yet.

Games played matters, actual age does as well. With the right partner I think he can give you quality #4 minutes and play.

I can see a potential package of Olofsson, Joker, a Prospect and a Pick to upgrade the roster somewhere needed.

Especially Olofsson, that contract is almost a perfect trade contract.

I feel like all three of Mitts, Olofsson, and Joker may prove to be redundant with the likes of Cozens, Savoie, Quinn, Peterka, Kulich, Ostlund, Rosen coming over the next few years.

Make or break year for both Mitts and Joker imo. Heck even if they do perform well, it could make them a more attractive trade piece.

It's always possible, but he just hasn't shown any real improvement. You can't hold on to everyone forever. Joker isn't the only one they are showing extreme patience with.

All of the kids that we now like again required "extreme patience" at some point. How many people had Tallness traded 2 years ago? Again, when Mitts was healthy last year he looked great in a small sample size. It doesn't hurt to give these guys some more time.

I'm not so sure Mitts has ever looked great in the NHL.

Holding prospects too long erodes their value, so it absolutely can hurt to wait to wait too long.

We have a far better chance of reviving either of them (especially Mitts) than trying to get value in a trade. This year is another growth year - roll them both out there.

One of these things is not like the other.

With how they’ve drafted it would seem management has confidence in Joki at least for the time being

In Michigan? Not likely, no.

Have you ever been to Bavaria? It would be kind of cool to compare. The Hofbräuhaus in Buffalo sucks, well, at least the beer and pretzels were right, the food was not fit for consumption by dogs though.

Does he make the mistake now and again? Yeah. Has he shown flashes of being a quality number 4? Also yeah. I completely disagree that he hasn’t shown improvement. The issue has been consistency, which for a lot of young dmen breaking into the league is a problem.

This would be the desired outcome...consolidate prospects and make some trades to upgrade the roster. I hope it works out that way.

That's the cycle here. If they play well, keep them. If they don't play well, keep them. Repeat until UFA.

Have to go quality over quantity at some point.

They shouldn’t have an issue filling out the middle of the roster for years to come

It was, yesterday.
Sabres have 4 prospects listed and a couple more listed as honorable mentions.
Speaks well to their recent draft years
