If those two things happen, the Sabres should be a playoff team

Career high in goals and assists for Skinner and Comrie playing 50 games and being in the top 10 in save percentage...

That's a playoff team

- Stripes77

I would have to agree, they would have been close last year if they got that goaltending.

Think it would also take some respectable secondary scoring. Need a second line to establish themselves.

Serious question..
When I see these charts, I usually start by comparing GF vs xGF...then look at other bars.

Am I correct in assuming that when xGF is higher than GF; that there is "negative" expected relative production there?
I also wonder why the xGA is presented without the GA...seems like a miss.

rapms are quick and dirty indicators of what a player did for his team in providing chances for and against. it's the surface level of a deep dive.

That's a good point, I think with Olofsson and how he finished the season and was healthy was very good, and he's on a second line.

I am curious what Mitts looks like this year. Same with Cozens. But you're right there are question marks, especially with Quinn and maybe JJ playing up this year.

Seems like there should be different charts for F and D.

Actual goals against for defensive purposes is not used due to how much it can be skewed by subpar goaltending.

as far as rapm goes, it's not really necessary. It's not a stat counter, more so how much a guy helps/hurts you in O/D zone. A better breakdown of effectiveness, graphically, are goals above replacement/expected GAR, where you can you can see how each player is performing in each zone, in each deployment and how often they are on the ice providing that contribution. it's a few steps below the rapm in the deep dive.

Lot of options, it's wide open. Probably the most interesting thing to watch in camp.

Give him his 9 and then send him back, I don't like the not being able to play in the AHL rule.

I think a lot of that depends on how he looks in camp, I don't want them to Nylander him, but if he looks the part that is going to be a tricky situation

if they were battling bjork for that last spot in the top 9, it would be an interesting decision

by bringing vinny back in the fold, there is not room for the 10 already primed for top 9 rolls, and that is excluding asplund

skinner-tage-tuch
krebs-cozens-olofsson
peterka-casey-quinn
vinnie-asplund
bjork-girgens-okposo

in essence there is no open competition at training camp this fall, and they are probably sending either quinn or peterka down which IMO will be a mistake

Same here.

He was my guy for quite sometime. If he was 6'1, he would have been a top 5 pick.
Glad he's considered too short for many GM's!
