The Preds have a good enough team to make the playoffs, but not good enough to do anything when they get there.

That’s what I’m hoping to avoid here in Buffalo

- Pegullaville

you do need to make the playoffs to have a shot at the cup though

Nah you just build a “championship team” first rather then a playoff team.

Even though almost all championships come after years of getting knocked out in earlier rounds

Tampa was knocked out by Columbus

Colorado was knocked out by a few teams before they got over the hump.

You need to get there first and take your lumps

Tkachuck to Florida. 23 has to be part of the return, doesn't he?

No you don't. Many great young teams went in and won.

Minnesota Wild stay taking their lumps then ?

Or does prior playoff experiences actually have no impact on future year success and each singular season depends on being the team with the best talent with a certain degree of luck ?

Huberdeau, Weegar, first and prospect.

Wow. I guess it’s possible to get a star player back for your star player

Very weird trade from the panthers. I don’t get it. Hubs is a great player

If you don’t think playoff experience helped the Lightning beat the Leafs in the playoffs this year I don’t know what to tell you.

They learned to win games every way imaginable

Aren't Huberdeau and Weegar both UFA's next summer? this could be extremely bad unless they get some extension done soon. Or flip them.

It’s a weird trade for both teams

Calgary should rebuild.

Florida gave up an close to equally valuable winger plus a good shut down D plus a first

His fancy numbers aren't what you think they would be and both players are ufa next year. Highway robbery by Florida.

Why hasn’t playoff experience helped the Leafs then ?

May I ask how the Cincinnati Bengals went to the SB after I watched them win a playoff game for the first time in my life time earlier this year ?

Because it’s the Leafs, and they’ve refused to change the style of play come playoff time. You really just wanna boil it down to pure luck that they’ve folded every time the series get tight? They’ve been more talented than the team they’ve faced nearly every time

Is it? They were already moving weegar. That 1st is way in the future. Huberdau is 30 and a ufa after the year. Tkachuck is 24 and elite +and extended).

Also, Colorado was the unquestionable best team this year with a unicorn on defense. They also skate like mothers. This wasn't all true in the past. Elite rosters with young talent wins in the NHL.

Tampa lost to Columbus because Vasy was dreadful. They then went to theee straight cups winning two because Vasy played like the best goalie in the world.

Tampa’s style didn’t change at all’s

He could play on my team any day. If you are Calgary you must get lundell in that trade. Huberdau is way too old and doesn't have term.
