Sorry, how do you know either of those two things are true?
- 1970vintage

How do I know he is a rat? I’ve watched him play. How do we know he was carried by Johnny? I’ve watched him play. How do I know Johnny is a coke Smurf? Well he is a midget (again I’ve seen him) and it’s common knowledge he has a serious coke problem. Anymore questions? This was really easy!

Right, so basically you don’t actually know any of those things to be true, other than the Smurf thing.

It’s common knowledge that your understanding of the game of hockey is simplistic at best, and that you are a lecherous sexual predator.

This is basically what you did. Perhaps you are a coke dufus.

Cool man 🤷‍♂️ Hey Vintsy, GFY. The 5 minutes I spent conversing with you was an unbelievable waste of time. (frank) you for wasting 5 minutes of this beautiful sunny day. Cheers 🎉

The Miller to NYI deal was closer to happening than people think it was and it didn’t fall apart because of a media leak.

Anybody know the return on the islander deal?

As for how calgary will do, I think huberdeau is more dynamic than gaudreau or tkachuk. He was challenging for league lead most of the year. Under sutter, I can see him taking another step in 2-way game. He has decent size too and I think he will flourish in a new division ... even if it is just for one year. Players playing on last year of contract is a thing no doubt - see calgary circa 21-22. Also weegar gives some offense from the back they were lacking. Sliding him in for guddy gives some o-zone push while keeping the big Z. I think calgary is as good or better.

For all my cheerleading of trading miller, it's not because i don't think he's a good player. It's just he gave that final year of contract type year last year ... it would be nice if canucks can cash in on a scenario like this in their favour.

Florida did well too given their situation, I don't think they got fleeced. Being a bit proactive before the hard cap crunch comes not a bad thing imho.

Last season was the first year Miller played C. Miller has never done what Tkachuk has done, regular season. I mean, I don’t care for the guy, but come on.
- 1970vintage

Really?

Miller has been the centre for Pouty, ever since he got here.

He doesn’t know much of anything, but loves pretending to have inside knowledge. He goes to the Roxy and buys players drinks, almost got beat up by Kassian if I remember correctly

Actually, He has been his winger that takes right side face offs. Almost though!

Essentially JTM isn't on the market. They want to re-sign him and clearly don't feel they're under any pressure.

Perhaps, but Green’s system was never about LW - C - RW. He did take a lot of face offs, I’ll grant you that. Still think he’s a better winger than a center, though Pettersson might also be a better winger than a center, which puts center depth in a precarious place for the Canucks…

The resurgence of the Canucks has to be tempered with the teams they were playing against didn't take them very seriously.
Once they got close the games got tougher and the losses started to build up again.
Some of the wins were against tired teams that the scheduler gifted them, known as scheduled wins in the industry.
The team was also playing with the peddle to the floor, maybe trying to add value in a trade play themselves off the team by looking more valuable.
The team still is capped out, has no defensive depth, at least two players they can't afford next year and 3 or 4 bad contracts to deal with.
To top it off the new management appear to be frightened to make a mistake and have ended up shooting themselves in the foot by waiting it out, so far it looks that way.
The new management has a golden opportunity to do just about anything without a fan revolt if it dismantling this mess left by Benning.

One thing they should not do is let the brand wither during the summer, they should try to keep the chatter about the team positive and continuing. Right now all fan dissapointment and ansk is because all there is/has been is the "same thing as Benning" has started to creep up, a loss of confidence in the management team.

It was a big deal. A couple of surprising names from both sides involved.

One player involved nixed it, Lou was pissed because of that, not because of some leak.

Friedman was right about the deal being close so even though he’s been kinda annoying these days, he still gets the scoops.

So none of the core can improve? The only one in thier prime is Miller, the d could use some work and forwards are part of that and it appears they improved the bottom six, I’m looking forward to the season.

Care to share the names you suspect? Just for curiosity sake ... not going to pick it apart. That said, can't say the same for others
