I would take that prospect that you call meh, anyway, over that meh prospect the Rangers supposedly offered(Lundkqvist).

I think Calgary got a player in Huberdeau, that will be much more appreciated by in Calgary, than he ever was in Florida.

Ya Lundkvist doesn't excite me

One is a 100+ point player, the other is not?

One is a C the other is not. One drives a line & fits with many players.

Last season was the first year Miller played C. Miller has never done what Tkachuk has done, regular season. I mean, I don’t care for the guy, but come on.
- 1970vintage

Can’t blame that on Miller. Not knocking Tkachuk just rather have Miller. Age is the only downside for me.

I think the panthers are looking at this as 24 year old Tkachuk over next 8 years vs 30 year old Huberdeau over next 8 years.

I’m surprised they also gave up Weegar too though, underrated player

- Nucker101

FLA probably wins this trade. Flames only depending on the final trade tree have a hope. All said they still did well given the gun to their head.

#5 is more competition for Hog. Can see an audition then onto Abby for the PO’s if in it.

Gezz. I expected a surprise but I think he went for shock and aww.

It's not even a prospect ranking, it's a his buddy ranking

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ Cap space.

They have Ekblad, Montour, Gudas signed already.

Duclair is out to start the season 3M on LTIR.

They still looking to get rid of Bob I'm sure. His buyout is worse that keeping half

Miller to the Devils is back on at least. They have a great pool of talent.

Not happening bro.

Flames are back to competing we'll need Miller to keep pace with EDM-CGY.

What exactly is it that you can’t blame on Miller? That he was never a C before last season, or that he’s never actually eclipsed the century mark for points in a season, or 40 goals in a season.

And I’m loving the good in the room narrative, like anyone in here “knows a guy”.

To go along with the Devils.

Frank Seravalli

Sources say one of the teams that was in deepest in trade talks on Matthew Tkachuk (and also on his short list) over last few days: #Canes.

Believe #stlblues were also in deep as well, but you can understand with another 100-point player in the mix, why Cats had the upper hand.

Canes can afford Miller. They have 8M in cap space. Only Necas to sign unless he is included.

Blues on the other hand are needing to send salary back as they have 600K in cap space. They could still trade Tarasenko in a deal first to clear cap space.

Spoke with multiple NHL execs this week who said the market for teams looking to offload cap was grim.

Way more teams looking to offload than teams w/ cap surplus. That's why a 27 yo top-six guy like Bjorkstrand goes for a pair of mid-round picks instead of Nyquist or Voracek.

Player for player trades like Tkachuk for Huberdeau and Weegar. Florida put themselves into a corner with their cap situation.

Tkachuk extension in FLA is $1M/year in salary, rest in bonuses ($68M).

The golden rule... trade a star, get one back. Flames got one back in Huberdeau. Big time. Hopefully they can sign him. That would be very nice.

Huberdeau is hilariously only 2 months older than Gaudreau too. Same draft.

Mhmmm.

Aren't you busy enough micro-analyzing VAN's roster?
