Enjoy the ban moron. - FlamesFan1230
You are one simple man 1230. All you had to do was google what he said to find the link and not look like a complete fool.
Probably too hard for you though?

Allocating $11.7M for 2C & 3C seems way too much. |

Kylington, a 1st, and a mid-level prospect for Meier. |

At this point, I'm sure the Flames and Devils have at least talked about Bratt. I'd like to see the Flames trade Andersson for Bratt then sign Mangiapane, Bratt, and Weeger to 4-6 years deals at 5-6 million each.
It'd be nice to upgrade at centre, but I can't really see anyone being available that wouldn't take a massive overpay. Just gotta hope that Monahan can come back healthy and be a decent 2 or 3C. |

I think he is, not 100% sure. Here's a good article about our possible lines:
https://thewincolumn.ca/2...-new-look-calgary-flames/
I'm still not sure about Dube and the gang rape.
Monahan now has a park named after him in Brampton, it could be a full time job... haha

Is it just me or does Dube sound like he was one of the players involved?
He was among the group of players that responded late through the agent and all that was said was "deny wrongdoing"
as in they were involved, but deny it was wrong or illegal as they supposedly had consent (took a video with her saying it was ok).
Vs
some of the other players who earlier on flat out said "we weren't involved", we weren't there, etc.... there's a big difference right?

Jesus Chr1st! The "tax thing" you speak of is absolutely NOT overstated. Pull your head out of your arse man, these things you're posting are nonsense and EVERY NHLer is concerned about taxes, actually it's every athlete across all sports. And yes, they all want to live in FLA, for the significantly lower tax burden. You seriously cannot think that the USA has higher tax rates than Canada. Wow.
Also, not a chance Huberdeau is staying in Cowtown. - JLO961
The "tax thing" is grossly UNDERESTIMATED at many levels.
Gary Bettman took over as President of the NHL in 1993. Since 1993 no Canadian team has ever won the Stanley Cup. Long odds over nearly 30 years and nearly 25% of the teams Canadian.
We can debate this "tax" point ad nausea the bottom line is when all is said and done players just don't want to play in Canada.
As a Canadian hockey fan the whole thing sure has to make you wonder...and as a Calgary fan how will it affect resigning Huberdeau and Weeger.

We can sign Paul Stastny as a 3C, maybe $2.5M-$3M AAV for 2 years, as a stopgap, giving Schwindt time to be ready.

That's nonsense. Obviously, Winnipeg, Calgary, and Edmonton before McDavid aren't at the top of the list of great cities to attract NHLers, but Toronto, Montreal, and Vancouver have had no trouble attracting talent. Ottawa's probably somewhere in the middle.
The pandemic definitely complicated things, but Canada as a whole has never been a place where players don't want to play. No pandemic and heart attack and Gaudreau and Tkachuk likely would've been fine with coming back.
Most of the teams in the league haven't won a Cup since '93. |

Brought this up earlier and no one responded. Doing nothing wrong isn’t, I was not involved. His play after this was brought out in the open dropped off dramatically. Hate to see something come out that lists him but if he was then he can kiss his career bye. |

Why ppl so high on this Schwindt player when we have players in the AHL heat who have as many points per game or more than him?

Canada had a much lower per capita covid infection rate than U.S. so that would be a reason too stay.
Actually a high percentage of the U.S. teams did win Cups and the point is 0% of Canadian teams did. |

The only comparable on the team yet to be named is Ruzicka, and Schwindt is a couple of years younger. Both of them will probably have a shot to make the team.

Have you tried to cross the border in the past 2 years?
Only 13 teams have won the Cup since '93. I wouldn't call that a high percentage. There have been extremely competitive Canadian teams almost every year for the past 2 decades. If they had played their best hockey at the right time, there were three Canadian teams good enough to win the Cup last year.
Do you really think the reason the Leafs haven't been able to break through is that no one wants to play there? |

He had to sign with Flames*, so NMC NTC first year makes no sense. Funny would have been Flames not trading him after signing the 8y contract... as CBA doesn't know sign&trade, its obviously a "handshake thing". (*media reporting he immediately signed with Panthers are therefore simply wrong!) |

Without the "handshake thing" that guaranteed the Panthers an 8 year term there's no way this deal would have happened. Credit some intelligent, good faith negotiating on both sides for making this possible.
It certainly makes the 24 yo look a lot smarter and more professional than the 28 yo.
There are almost certainly some business-savvy owners who would hire BT in a heartbeat now. (Flames fans should probably be careful what we wish for.) |

Bettman's replacement. It has to be on Treliving's mind. $10M/yr. Give him credit for the adversity he's dealt with, plus he could apply the boston pizza model to grow the league |

Just curious. If Huberdeau and Weeger remain unsigned next year will Florida be able to bid on them? I don't see why not.
Talk about irony. |
