Great read:
https://www.msn.com/en-ca...de/ar-AA102w1u?li=AAggFp5

''All NHL players are paid in US dollars Some players from the USA would prefer to play in their home country. Conversely, some Canadian players take pride in playing in Canadian markets.

''Both Huberdeau and Weegar are Canadians. They are both scheduled to become UFA’s after 2022-2023. They appreciate the intensity associated with playing in a Canadian market and I believe they will thrive in the environment.

A player being paid $9.5 million per year playing in places like Nashville, Dallas and Florida take home approximately $5.7 million after taxes.

A player being paid the same but playing in Toronto, Ottawa and Montreal will end with approximately $4.5 million after taxes. A player looking to sign long-term in Calgary is looking at just shy of $5 million annually after taxes''.

I don’t think you understand the conversation. Or more likely, you are in an anti-Canadian space right now. This whole covid thingy has really (frank) with your psyche.
- bloatedmosquito

I get it just fine not sure you are getting the points. I'll email my cousin and have him explain it to you. But you are correct I am in an anti Canadian space right now especially living under JT and his merry band of fcktards and supporters. Hopefully it gets handled and it may require some violence. As far as the 'covid' thingy I don't subscribe to the Covid narrative so it never really affected me one way or the other. Made the decision to not be an experiment for the vaccine campaign that will go down as one of the biggest scandals in medical history. Plus it will be known as the biggest crime ever committed on humanity. The time is coming my friend where good folks will need to do bad things.

I know a guy that knows this other guy!

I knew a guy that predicted that Johnny Hockey and the Turtle would both be gone...

wonder who that could have been?

I wouldn't be surprised if Kylington was traded before his August 10 hearing.

That is the least likely scenario, and you’re talking like it’s a foregone conclusion. If it looks like Kane is gonna win this case San Jose will most likely settle and cut him a check for the difference. Why are you so convinced it will go down any other way?
- HonkyTonkMan

It was a retort, so it's not really the most likely scenario at all. But is there a scenario that allow SJ to just cut a cheque for the difference? Maybe, but isn't that also considered to be the same as retained salary? SJ may prefer to trade him for something instead. Worst case, they get an asset for retained salary.

I guess it all depends on how the NHL sees this, should it come to it. There really isn't a clear example of this happening before. Mike Richards is still on LA's books until 2031. But that was not exactly the same issue.

Vegas over cap & have players to sign, I like the idea of getting our Swedish gang to take W Karlsson on a fishing trip & convince him Calgary is the Swedish place to be. Flick Vegas Zary & a 3rd or 4th & we just got our #2 C. Vegas get just under 6.0 mill of valuable cap space.

How about sending a waiver exempt player for Roy? Then that is pure cap savings. Can really afford top pay the guy. Other option is Valimaki + waiver exempt player for Nolan Patrick + Roy. Saves them a little less than $3M

Or shortly after so the acquiring team has cost certainty.
Someone has to be traded as I don't think anyone other than Gilbert and maybe Meloche clears waivers.

Let's hope not. He'll be 32 at the start of the season and is presumably looking for $8M AAV. Treliving has done a good job so far avoiding big UFA contracts.

Exactly. He gets expensive for 3rd pairing and he's good bait.
