They’ve actually improved the PK quite a bit, I agree with Lefty, D is still the biggest factor for this team. - neem55
If they hadn’t improved their PK they never would have been anywhere near the bubble last season. |

Lazar and Miky are also very solid upgrades in that department |

Yes but better team D should be more reasonable to ask. Expecting better offence being healthier at this time. Should impact the D helping breakouts. Still the D has to show real growth & it’s there to be had. OEL & Bones 1 year later will be what to watch. Hughes is Hughes & will have more to give.
Comes down to a total team effort. I fully expect fans patience will be tested & understand the apprehension.

Anyone of the Vegas rfa's would be nice, all 3 would be even better. - Reubenkincade
Roy or Hague be nice but cap is in the way. Unraveling still priority & looking unlikely. |

ya, I’m still hoping we figure out a forward for d swap. I doubt Calgary wants to deal with us but we have a forward for them and they have lots of d |

The PK was probably the single biggest factor in digging a hole. |

As was suggested, moving Hoglander would then leave Canucks with about 1.5 million in space, should be able to sign any of those 3 for that price. |

They’ve RFA’s still to sign so lots is up in the air for them. |

That’s a maybe. VGK in a cap hurt but those 2 have real value & won’t be given away like a broken down Patches or Dadonov for pure cap space. |

The obvious cap culprits are in our way from one more good move. Pearson & Poolman. Pearson is steady but hard to find a taker. Poolman leaves us no choice but to see if healthy he can at least be value & play some tough D. Not optimistic on that front & his offence isn’t there. Dlcky is worth a bounce back look & see by shear no choice with 3yrs left on his deal. I feel he’s motivated & will be better. |

I’ve scoured the UFA market & find it less than good to find help. Trading is the only option & in this point in the offseason it is far from ideal to expect that. |

Our hope lies in BB getting this team outta the gate with an identity. Furthermore all the kids will be relied on to show more than marginal improvement. A speed game & tenacity with more urgency than we’ve seen is a must. Start much better & play 60mins is not much to ask for & let the results follow. |

Or you move someone with solid value like Garland, bigger savings and return |

Hog is a buy low situation. He has to come out flying & reinvent himself & impress BB & staff. Idk if any team has an eye on him but he can up his stock if he truly has worked on his D & it shows. Imo that means being a pest & puck hound & stand out like say Motte or Burr did. At least be more consistent. |

Thought on that many times. Who do you target? And why? Personally I expect Garland to be a beast in his own way but it has to be game 1 & continue. His skating & zone entry are his bread n butter. |

Finding a RHD looks to be for another day. In season will be when to seriously hope we get one.
MUKHAMADULLIN is young but depending how NJD fairs could he be got for Garland? Sure he’s not a plug n play yet but proven RHD are even harder to get in season. |

Another thought is our deeper top 9 could draw interest if they do what we realistically hope for. I like the idea of how our offence & speed could perform & idk if I really want to trade if it does. Comes down to build on it if it does even though a monumental ask or use it to get more assets? Out scoring our warts isn’t a bad way to go. |

Prospect isn’t all doom & gloom…

Still hope is only wishful expectations still though Abby should be a fun team. Potential is there but an often used word. 1-2 players coming outta the dust isn’t much to ask for. Mid 6 is iffy bottom 6 possible top 4 D a dream. Abby has a big task to develop them. |

I agree, Flames D looks like the envy of the Pacific.
Flames Canucks 1st round matchup? |
