meh, they need depth on the right side, Pernell-Karl Sylvester Subban is 33yrs old, if at 1M for a year...why not.

why not anyone else? why bring in this kind of distraction? except for the potentially low cost I don't see many positives with this, I'm hoping Hughes will know better.

Ok, I'll be the devil's advocate... PK has always played hard for Carey. Price healthy, he comes in at a discount? Could be the feel good story of the year... The return of the triple low 5....
We're missing that energetic checking presence that Romanov brought... Who wouldn't want to see PK hip checking Marchand's ass one more time? I know I would!

oh if he could bring that type of game back I'd be fine with it, but it's pretty apparent that those days are over for him. expecting that he would magically turn it around by putting on a habs jersey would be rather unreasonable imho.

Oh, for sure. But to have the chance to rekindle even half of that potential could be valuable, and goodness knows we need a shot from the point.

yeah, I loved him when he was in MTL, but I'm very skeptical about any of that happening. I'd rather have someone who the younger guys can look up to, and who wouldn't represent a distraction in any way whatsoever.

I see both sides...I can see Xhekaj taking the Subban-esque role out of camp...I was impressed with his play last pre-season, too.

I've heard Xhekaj has some grit to his game that the Habs could use, not sure about his offensive output though.. he's only 21, so he might not be ready right away. would be interesting to see him in action if the habs give him a few games next season.

I saw him play during the Memorial Cup ... I'm not sure he's NHL ready as the pace is much faster than in juniors.

Being a D, he could surely benefit from a stay in the AHL.

Edmundson, Matheson, Savard, Wideman...
there's 2 spots open. I think Barron and Guhle take them.
then there's Harris. Xhekaj will certainly play in Laval.

and btw, that's a terrible dcore. legit bottom 5 in the league.

agreed with your assessment, although I'm thinking they might have some sort of rotation at times among the younger guys, so I wouldn't be surprised to see Xhekaj be given a shot with the big club at some point. and looking at his stats he's accumulating more points than I thought, would be nice if he could bring some of that to the NHL.

add to that your star goalie on LITR (not that it would change anything if he was playing), a below average center line and no real first line talent.
yes sir!
