Interesting on NHL Radio on Sirius/XM. The PowerPlay finally got to Chuck Fletcher and the Flyers. A big fat “F” and they had nothing good to say. Just pointed out the many contradictions and said it’s obvious the people in charge has no plan and Flyers seem to be satisfied competing for 11th place. These are good hockey commentators. Seems like they read our posts… oh wait, the Flyers think the fans are stupid. - mikeyo27 I was listening as well. Just happened to turn it on as they were finishing up the Sens GM grade. Couldn't wait to hear what they had to say about Chuckles. An absolute "F" from both guys. Boomer and Jake Hahn are pretty good, and I consider them to be fair evaluators. Not one good thing to say about Chuckles and crew. They only handed out 2 other Fs among the 32 GMs. Do the Flyers have a dunce HOF? Perhaps Chuckles can be the first entered after his tenure is ova? FIRE CHUCK! Thanks! |

Since you are not going to stop, it might be time for me to give you a warning.
I generally don't bother with you, for the same reason I don't bother with a limping sewer rat running along the edge of my property. Beyond the revulsion is pity, and a certainty that life is hard for that rat, and life will take care of further punishment.
If you had the guts to actually face me in real life, and say that kind of stuff to a man who has an African American wife, I would have put you over my knee, pulled your pants down, and give you the good hard thrashing that you so evidently crave.
But if your type had that guts, you wouldn't be here spewing your blather. So, I just want to let you know that you should stick to your promise to not respond to me, which you made a year ago. You have been doing this shtick for some time now, and not just to me:

Be aware I have watched, and compiled several other instances, scattered over a long period of time, and the ban will be lengthy and long, and what prevents me and probably others from flagging you is not diffidence but the same aforementioned pity. |

I did not call for a race of people to be denied the basics of leaving their homes because they do not trust the government as you did. I don't care what color your wife is, it doesn't change that fact that as a human being you suck ass |

So after listening to the lastest episode of the Flyer’s Broadcasters Roundtable podcast, here are my thoughts on some of the points in which I disagreed:
This year was bad, but we have seen worse.
No, not me. This has been the worst year I have seen as a fan (since ‘04).
Fletcher not tipping his hand, not mentioning specific contracts, the flat cap….
These are not the problem; this is common and true for all teams. Rather it is the communication or miscommunication that reflects the appearance of a poorly executed plan, abandoned plan or no clear direction at all. Regardless of whether the plan was to stabilize this year and build from drafting and development or if the plan was to obtain talent through trade and free agency to “win now,” the decisions of the last two years leave supporters of either path wanting.
….tell ‘em they are going to be sh!t before any games are played…
Okay, the truth is that they are not sh!t. This is the best professional hockey league in the world. They are all the best. I agree that under Torts, I expect a better team game, defense and consistent effort. The problem is that this is the best league, and that means competition. The Metro looks brutal. Saying that they can improve enough to jump from finishing last to finishing seventh, is actually me expecting a lot of improvement. It’s optimism with the gut check of reality that played out in these last two seasons. Other teams will be improving also. I have no desire for any less than seeing the team performing to the best of it’s capabilities. If that is surprisingly better than expected…hurray! Let’s go Flyers! |

I said absolutely nothing, directly or indirectly, that has anything to do with race or ethnicity, as you are perfectly aware. Since you are prone to deleting and revising your comments, here is the screenshot from a week+ ago of the start of this:
Please do not delude yourself into thinking you have successfully baited me into a moronic argument with you. I ignored probably 5 of your baits the past week, we are done here, I am done with you, and should you be tempted to pursue this further, I will again remind you of the warning. |

You have a kind heart and a very myopic perspective, but this off-season was for me not at all as bad as what I feared. The biggest plus being that the team did not sign a 27 or older marquee FA to some long term contract. And they kept their firsts.
Sanheim, Risto, TAD, TK, JVR, are not Torts type players. Nether is Hayes. With a hopefully impaired Couts, a hopefully mostly absent Ellis, and a hopefully very delayed Bee, there is a decent chance this team could actually pick top 5 again. 2 top 5 picks would be enormous progress. Two more and we could actually have some semblance of vision and progress, and it is not out of the realm of possibility.

No but I seem to have higher expectations then you. Kept their firsts….what about gaining firsts and keeping and gaining seconds especially in a deep draft?
Not out of the realm of possibility…true, but I would rather this be part of an actual path than just luck into it. Victory by design as opposed to dumb luck or misfortune.

How exactly would you have expected them to gain those firsts? They have no one who they could trade to give them that this off-season.
I don't see as inexplicable a process as you do. I feel the people who run the franchise believe, rightly or wrongly, that the fan base would not sustain years of very bad performance by design. They tried their best to give people that veneer of competitiveness, and then got hemmed in.
Or, they are actually trying to pick as high as possible while seeming to trying still to be competitive and get as many asses on seats as possible.
I feared they would be even more cynical.
EDIT: The critical measure of this year's success/failure will be: % of seats filled. |

They are as omnipresent as were your calls for moderation when the guy dogged me the past week+ with utterly fictitious and utterly manufactured nonsense. 😉
I apologize for the ugliness. But beyond a grace period of hopeful neglect, I believe the best way to address a festering sore is to lance the boil. |
