Wiz, is this a hockey site?

Just wait until Wiz gets here....

Oh, I thought you wanted me to respond!

It is but I just sent a link too the fact that DeSantis DID pass such a law here, to curry favor with the folks who he wants to vote for him.
I don't ever make things up.

I am 72 years old don't need to come here,
want to insult anyone, but,
I wanted it to stop right away.

Not escalate.
Truly
I don't need to be around nasty.
But I never backed down against anyone in a fight and would now on the street if a situation is ridiculous enough that I need to, but

You really think I am here for that?

If either Kane or Toews want to go, not much point in trying to keep them.

The Hawks are going for the long long game on the rebuild and both of them have already peaked and show signs of decline. I'm not saying there isn't good hockey left, but neither look Stanley Cup winning quality at this point. Kane is healthier and putting up more points, but the ability to dominate defenders with speed has not been there for some time now. Toews obviously would need to get over his health issues, but still doesn't look like the guy who was the heart of the team in the cup years.

If KD gives either of them long term or money he should be fired.

- breadbag

What a story that would be… toews back from the dead and returns to form like in 18-19 when he scored 35 goals… saying he’s healthy now but who knows… it’s not going to happen anytime soon but if toews has hockey left in him and with Kane still one of the best players in the league still I would not mind them staying around to revitalize the franchise when they did when the first came up…

I just expected you to tell everyone to keep it to hockey, since you scolded others recently for straying from the topic.

Me either...I just want Tazer to not make on the fence comments like "I dunno what I wanna do."
Come in and embrace the role even if you have already gone to KD and asked him to quietly find you a playoff team you can help...

Yeah, yeah, but when you see a lie, you have to call it out. I was done with this after my first post. I really felt I was with friends and then it became less friendly. I know how to fill my days other ways.
Lots more to watch and get ready for 2023 Ivan Glinka on Monday for instance and starting to ease all this old stuff that is on my machines....Time to do things elsewhere....don't worry I will get over it.

Toews was part of a rebuild when he was drafted and he'll leave as part of a rebuild. He needs to pick a lane "I want to be here" or "I want to go somewhere else". I think there would be more respect for him if he first went to KD and said what he wanted to do then stayed out of the press about it. Let KD do his magic either way.

Toews is well beyond his prime. Going to be some very painful seasons coming during this rebuild. For fans sake not as long as the previous one before cup runs. Kane should be a TDL casualty & fully blow it up.

What value at Toews contract is he to any team? None imo

For the first time that I can recall, Toews has been on the ice in the Summer before August. He really is serious about this being a real return to form. He was humble in the article (that Laz rightfully said was spun for clicks by many other sites), admitting that he would not bring back much value in a trade right now and that his stock around the NHL is way down. His comments did not seem like complaints, just more matter-of-fact reflection on the current situation, both for the team and personally. He sounded optimistic about opportunity to play for Richardson.

I know I'll get roasted probably, but I'd get what I could for Toews and tell him not to let the door hit him in the ass.

The next day, I'd announce the statue of Kaner that's going outside the stadium.

7 years ago, I'd never have thought Kane would have ended up the more likeable one of the two.

I think it’s pretty well blown up, regardless of what happens to 19 & 88

Not at full price. What about at 50% retained? He’s exactly the kind of depth C most contenders are looking for. Faceoff guy, PK, leadership, enough offense to play up a line in a pinch.

Expiring contract. If you get the guy that showed up in later stages of last season at 50% retained??? How many better depth centerman adds will be out there.

I don't actually know what is considered 'bad for the brand' anymore- not after seeing Mrazek listed as #35 on the team roster site.

I don't want to break it to them that harshly, but the last person to ever wear #35 for the team has it hanging in their own freaking rafters .... maybe get the webguy out in the rink to have a look, and change that number on the site to be a TBD or something.

Maybe at the TDL, almost all the teams that are SC contenders cannot take on an additional $5.25 cap hit.

Three way trade. Someone else takes on 2.6M.

I can live with the rebuild, the fire sale, the lingering stench of scandal, and the painful seasons to come, but this…this cannot stand. Somebody better get the (frank) on this pronto.

That really only makes sense if the Hawks were desperate to dump salary. Getting a 3rd team involved would minimize what’s already almost assuredly a small return.

Gonna be fun watching bedard live 8-10 times this fall. Allen will be in town 4-6 times to. Have to look at the schedule and see when Korchinski and the birds are in town.

To me it makes sense if the acquiring team wants him badly enough and can't afford the 5.25M. Maybe they would trade something to the 3rd team to take on 2.6M. But a lot of things have to fall in the place....Toews waives, he is having a good year increasing his value, a contender wants him for the playoff run.

Considering all the skins on the wall he has, if he has a better season then last year there will be a bidding war for him. This is a player who does all those things that doesn't show up on a stat sheet that helps teams win games. If Giroux got a 1st i can't help but think so will the Captain, and if they have to send some salary back with no term and we eat half of his contract, I'm sure the return will be substantial.

We are plenty under the cap, we don't need a 3rd team to get involved just take on a bad contract with short term.

The Hawks site does list his number at 35, but it also shows his picture in a Leafs uniform showing #35. Maybe the Millenial in charge of that web site page thought he'd be wearing the same number as a Hawk. Hopefully someone over there becomes aware of the Tony-O factor and corrects things.

The Hawks are only allowed to retain half. The third team can can reduce it by another half.
