We can't move Petterson, that would be a bad idea. Dumo I wouldn't care I guess but we'd probably have to bring in a LD. Let's just try and make a deal with Zuck & Kap for Miller haha, add whatever. - 668710
Yeah, Petts would definitely not be ideal, and personally my vote is for a Kap/Zuck trade. If we could even sniff at a trade that include them and a piece or two for Miller I’d be game! GMJR loves himself some Kap. |

Shocking that Malkin was the best rated forward for 21/22 and Carter was the worst. |

It's pretty sad. He's been awesome and cheap as (frank). I guess it's just a running order to always add unnecessary dmen in the lineup.

Carter getting 2nd line TOI is a clear problem, but also a result of all the injuries. I think if his usage is primarily 3rd line it will net better results. I'd also like to see him move to wing, but that's less likely to happen now with Heinen back. |

Considering the return for Pacioretty and Bjorkstrand, I think the only way the Pens can trade Pettersson is if they add a pick or prospect. |

It’s unlikely they trade him at the point. |

I just don’t see Pettersson as a top 4. I was hoping they moved him so as to bring in a legit one. |

He's definitely a top 4 defenseman, and one of the better defensive defensemen in the league.

I was just looking ahead to possible available deadline rentals. Some of these will probably out of reach for the Pens because there will likely be bidding wars, but some may be attainable. These are not players I'm saying I want. Just some of the main names that I think will likely be available:
Nyquist
Okposo
Lucic
Meier
Drouin
Hornqvist
Dadonov
A. Johnsson
Byron
Athanasiou
Sundqvist
Hinostroza
Watson
Grant
Donato

Did Calgary extend Huberdeau? I think he'll end up being available with Calgary taking a step back. |

Absolutely. He's our best LD and that's just fine because our top 2 RD bring the offense. |

Has CGY stated they're taking a step towards rebuilding? My guess is they're going to try and extend Huberdeau. |

CGY really did a good job with this trade when many thought they had been backed into a corner. They could do either option
1) Extend Weegar and Huberdeau and stay competitive
2) Trade one or both for huge ransoms and take the available cap space.
Impressive work by their GM. |

Yeah and I wouldn't be surprised to see them become a player for Kadri.

No they haven't but I think they will take a step back and end up collecting assets for Huberdeau. |

They could possibly make that work. They have 9.3 in space but also have Monohans 6.3 on IR so that leaves them with 3 mil but they haven't signed Mangianpaniiiaia(lol) yet |

You have that wrong. They have 9.3 plus the 6.3 when he goes on LTIR. |

Yea, so much so they had to deal Marino because no one felt Pettersson was worth his contract. You must not watch a lot of Pens games! |

Well that's good for them. But if I we're Calgary I wouldn't jump to extend them quite yet. I'd like to see how the team looks halfway through. They could have the absolute best TDL forward. |

Me? No. Never, I don't watch any Pens games at all. Like.. none, in my entire life. I don't even have the internet. |

Dude Dan Marino has been retired for quite some time now. Don’t know what you’re talking about. |

They have a championship caliber backend and goalie. They can’t commit to a rebuild imo. |

I know, it just sucks for them. It's hard losing 2 forwards right in their prime having 100 point seasons. Huberdeau offsets one of them. Time will tell, I think they will still be good but they didn't beat the Oilers this past year. |

It's very hard, but Huberdeau is a nice consolation prize to Tkachuk and I say that kind of tongue-in-cheek. That's a great get for them. Losing Gaudreau really hurts, but there's enough decent players left out there for them to TRY and replace him via committee.
Getting Kadri would go a long way in doing that. There's also some solid names left out there to fill out their lineup: Statsny and Milano would be good adds as well. Larsson and ERod could be good depth guys.
They certainly don't have to rebuild. |
