It's very hard, but Huberdeau is a nice consolation prize to Tkachuk and I say that kind of tongue-in-cheek. That's a great get for them. Losing Gaudreau really hurts, but there's enough decent players left out there for them to TRY and replace him via committee.

Getting Kadri would go a long way in doing that. There's also some solid names left out there to fill out their lineup: Statsny and Milano would be good adds as well. Larsson and ERod could be good depth guys.

They certainly don't have to rebuild.

I'm surprised they didn't try and work out a deal with Cbus for Bjorkstrand.

You're so funny, Mark Pysyk laughed his feet off... which is too bad, as he plays RD and RW.

Makes me like him a bit more. That being said it’s Winnipeg.

Clearly Heinen is more dedicated to the Pens than Kapanen.

It would make the most sense to trade dumo, right? Last year of his contract, they arent going to resign him, he makes 4.1M and he had a terrible year.

If we can snag up a good LD, haven't checked free agent list in a while. Zucker makes sense as well to try and move but doesn't seem like teams are biting on cap Dump trades.

So the Pens traded away their two best zone entry defensemen these past playoffs...

I'm thinking Rutta might be the Bolts symbols in the on the line of "forced dump ins" and "brick wall" section though...or the one just inside "brick wall"...McDonagh's name is there but its hard to tell for which Bolts logo

I still don't hate the Matheson for Petry trade. And my guess for the 2 bolts logos that don't have names is Sergachev in the brick wall category and Rutta in the open door one haha.

Responded before I finished editing haha...yeah, I'm a bit lukewarm on it. Lean towards liking it a bit but I really liked how Math looked last season, thought he really fit well with what they were doing and wish it was someone else from backend that went...

hahah yeah good call, I dont see Serg's name anywhere either....and I also just noticed another Bolt logo kind of behind a Flames an Kings one in the very top right of Open Door hahah...most likely one of the open doors is Rutta hahaha

If I noticed Rutta being good along the boards in the defensive zone he probably lets them in lol. Basically we need one of Smith or POJ to step up and lead that third pair.

I'd probably rather he play the left side with Ruhwedel flanking him.

hahaha yeah, he was definitely good on the boards...but kind of like blocked shots, the more of it you need, the less you're doing right most likely hahah

I mean if it comes to that, ok. I'd rather see POJ and Smith get shots at the beginning here. We know what Ruhwedal is. That's if we still have Ruh before the season starts.

I think there’s a bit of a caveat with that chart. The alternative is skating into Herman’s side of the ice. I know where I’m going 10 times out of 10.

So was thinking about our top 10 (forwards+defense) and we have 2 question marks there with Zucker and Dumo.
The bottom 10, well I may as well mark the non question marks haha, which for me is Heinen and Blueger. We could just forget about the 4th line at the beginning of the season and go:
Heinen-Blueger-Carter
Mcginn-Poehling-Kap

But Sully won't do that.

Codi Ceci is a better defenseman than Roman Josi.
