No... Josi just wasn't as good at shutting down zone entries in his one series sample size (vs Avs) as opposed to Ceci and his three.... |

Hey if he works out that would be great, our top 6 would be solid and we now have a solid backup winger in Heinen when injuries happen. I'd really like to sign one of Milano or Stastny still but I guess we'll have to wait till trade deadline if we're in the playoff hunt for an additional
3rd line scoring forward. |

Yeah, this is the group for now. I don't see them making any moves until the deadline. That said, if Kap and Zuck each have 20G/50ish point years it would be huge, but hey, it's nice to dream lol

Why did free agency just basically die? There's still a ton of NHL players out there... |

Too many teams looking to clear cap space and not enough takers. So the price to clear space is that much higher.
The flat cap really screwed free agents. If I were them and I was only going to get better, sign a 2-3 year deal and become a free agent again when the cap hopefully skyrockets. |

Teams have no cap. Players have no leverage. Just playing chicken at this point. |

That's what Klingberg did with a one year deal. There's risk but it is what it is. |

Plus noone wants to go to Arizona or Anaheim where the teams have tons of cap space lol. Klingberg is hoping to cash in next free agency. I expect Kadri to sign a 1 year deal as well. |

Yea Kadri will have to unless a team that wants him can shed salary |

Few free agents can bank on getting better. They're likely to just get older. Kind of screwed either way. |

Me neither. I know the market is bad, but a puck-moving RHD and basically the only top 4 offensive defenseman not getting term is very surprising. |

I think Klingberg will be a trade deadline target. Smart move by Anaheim they could probably land a good package for him at the deadline and all it cost was some salary/money |

This off-season continues to make little sense. I can't remember seeing a less consistent market.

Rutta, Petry, and Kap could have easily been Klingberg and Milano... I am happy with having Petry. Just think it would have been nice to have Klingberg as a 2nd pairing Letang backup. |

With the stagnant cap and most teams not having any space, I'm surprised more players aren't opting for short deals and waiting a bit for the cap to start going up again so they can cash in. Maybe Klingberg didn't get any offer near what he wanted with any term and took the chance that he will in a year or two.
