Kylington & Monahan
for
Crouse and maybe a Pick
Tweak the trade as needed to free up the Monahan Money, then really go after Kadri along with signing Mangiapane.

Vegas isn’t giving away young cost controlled assets. They’ll give away a guy like Karl or Lehner before they ever have a conversation about guys like Roy and Patrick. - TurdFergeson
Where the Knights are now, maybe Flames throw a 3 year 3.5mill offer sheet at Roy, compensation is a 2nd round pick. That would really throw a monkey wrench at them. |

That's the secret to their success. Trade or sign the new toy and trash the guys that got them into the SCF. Patches, Schmidt, who is next on the hit list? Not as many teams willing to take a cap dump these days. COL isn't able to find a taker for Girard or Compher and those really aren't cap dumps.

Yeah no way they will part with Stutzle. Maybe for Batherson but the Team Canada stuff may be a deterrent. I would look at giving the Hawks Monahan, Valamaki & a 3rd for Toews & they eat 3.0 mill of the cap.
I would see if Buffalo would do Hanafin for Cozen? But I definitely think we should consider W Karlsson from Vegas for Valamaki & a 4th. - Kevin R
The 3rd would have to be a conditional that could turn into a second. |

Treliving loves conditional picks for some reason, most of his deals that have picks involved are 95% of the time conditional.

I’m good with Kadri @ 7 but any more than that and I think we’ll be hard pressed to extend Huber and Weegar. Gonna need Monahans $ next year. |

They will never get Kadri at that. Comparable contracts have it at more like 8 to 8.5.
The Huberdeau and Weeger money comes from the Lucic contract and maybe Valimaki if he doesn't figure things out. But right now Mackey, Meloche, and next year maybe Poirier if ready are more useful. But just those two contracts are 6.8 mil.
Even if you split that evenly between Huberdeau and Weeger that brings them to 9.3 mil and 6.85 mil. Those seem like very competitive salaries for them at a rough quick glance.

Do you think Kylington alone would be enough? I think Tre would have to add.
What about Stastny? He is old as ballz but he can slide over to wing for the couple games Monahan is healthy. - DuranDuran
Yes to Stastny, he would be a very good two-way 3C.

Well even if Chicago is on his NT but I doubt that would be the case, he would probably waive it to go to a team where he can be a top 6 C option in a contract year. Plus with Johnny gone, who knows. I would rather do that deal than overpay Kadri on a 6-7 year deal. - Kevin R
Agree on Kadri. With the current cap space situation in the NHL, it's going to be difficult to move a player like Monahan who has an unknown value.

With CAP space tight for most teams Kadri is staring down the barrel of a 1 year deal like Kilngberg signed.

I read somewhere that Huberdeau said he would sign for 9 million in Florida. Tre offered JG 10.5. It will be interesting to see where this goes. |

I think you will see Kuznetsov well before Poirier makes your team.
Kuznetsov will be a beast for you guys. |

If we're looking to dump our deadweight (Lucic or Monahan) to open up a spot, Coyotes are probably a good partner (Treliving knows them well) but it's going to cost us a good player or a high draft pick to sweeten the bid. |

Flames can’t afford to keep giving up assets to dump salary. Those picks and prospects eventually help balance the cap. |

Kylington and Looch to the Ducks for the CAP space then get Mange and Kadri done. I dont think Vali and Looch gets it done but maybe.
Looch is only being pad 1 mill this year now that his bonus has been paid.
Moving Mony is price prohibitive.

Mange Kadri Coleman

So why would the Ducks even consider this? It takes something more of value for them to consider it. Which prospect/pick of substance are you adding? And what happens to Dube if it's found he was involved in the Team Canada thing? And do you really think Mony can play 4th line? Guy is soft/delicate, putting him in checking role really can't help that can it? |

The Ducks would be getting Kylington who took a massive stride forward last year into Calgary's top 4. He was Calgary best skating Dman and probably the best skater on the team. I think Deddie's suggestion is okay but no chance Calgary should have to add to it. If anything the Ducks send a mid round pick back to Calgary. |

It wouldn't be as hard to find a taker for Lucic as people think...he makes like 1M real money and is done at the end of the year.
Cap hit is irrelevant to many teams and he is still a useful guy to have around |

Treliving will likely make an intra-division trade as a last resort.

Just got off the phone with a guy that knows & I think that Nazem Kadri is done to
@NYIslanders
They have to clear out some cap room & then it’ll be announced. I’m FAR from an Insider but I’m very confident that it’s done. Great signing by NYI & Nazem Kadri deserves every penny. |

With Kadri joining the Islanders, there's a centre that becomes available maybe Nelson or Pageau, but they're not cheap. |
