Isak Rosen disagrees
any prospect under contract by the sabres, is much better to be developed in rochester under the sabres philosophy vs playing in some rinky dink league with 17 year olds or buried on the 4th line in an overseas league
other then that, you had a great post |

not often I agree with a fritz take, but yeah, Rochester isn't always the answer. Come on now.
For Rosen, it's probably correct, if the only options are the SHL or Rochester. I'm not sure his rights are owned by a CHL team but that could also be beneficial to him. But, it appears he's on his way to Rochester. Best of luck to him. |

19 year olds would learn more from playing against ahl players then 16 year olds
esp when you take into account the professional training they will get
we are talking about prospects under nhl contracts |

some guys who are physically larger and more talented than their peers certainly would be better suited for Rochester. Others who haven't hit that level maybe need more time in the lower leagues. It's not uniform, one size fits all. We all know this.

100% agree with this. It’s always better to play bigger faster stronger players to get used to the speed of the game

agreed for perhaps the 6th and 7th rounders that are lottery tickets and not under nhl contract
once under contract, I still feel it's best for the organization to be training them again, vs being buried on the 4th line overseas or playing in hick towns with 16 year olds |

Trade Mittelstadt, Bjork, Pekar and Portillo to the Jackets for a top 10 protected first. |

This makes no sense. So of age players would learn more playing against 16 year olds than playing in a league directly below the NHL in the same system that his drafting team implements? |

Lolololol,
MOST players have multiple options for places to develop
Around a dozen European leagues, CHL leagues, ncaa, etc
So like i said, players don’t NEED to be on Rochester to develop
They have plenty of other options
Try again |

if you have a bartender under contract to work at an upscale bar, you would rather they be trained at a country club setting vs pouring beers on quarter beer night at the skank saloon
if the sabres have them under contract, they need to be developed by the sabres not playing the 4th line in a euro league or with 16 year old boys
the fact you find it funny shows how clueless you are |

if you aint ready, you don't have a contract
something you love to ignore, the contract
7th rd lottery picks w/o a contract, sure
players drafted to make an impact on your team, get them under your watch once under team contract

TONS of players are signed & still playing in Europe &/or the CHL
Good grief dude
I know u love to argue with me….
But once again, you just aren’t correct
And I never said which league was “better” for development, but that’s very arguable
The FACT is that there’s other places that players can be developed
And in many instances it works out great
Not always of course, but that’s true for any league
Also,
the Swedish league & KHL are very arguably better than the AHL
Maybe the Finish league as well
