TONS of players are signed & still playing in Europe &/or the CHL
Good grief dude
I know u love to argue with me….
But once again, you just aren’t correct
And I never said which league was “better” for development, but that’s very arguable
The FACT is that there’s other places that players can be developed
And in many instances it works out great
Not always of course, but that’s true for any league
Also,
the Swedish league & KHL are very arguably better than the AHL
Maybe the Finish league as well - jdfitz77
Think homie is talking about early picks and there development. Unless you're say a top 3 pick you are probably going back to your Junior team/College/Overseas. I am sure most teams would like to get there top picks in the system as quickly as they can, only have so many contracts though. |

He is saying a you aren’t handing a player a contract that is going to grow from playing the CHL and if you are offering said player a contract you want to have control of their development. Therefore you want them in Rochester. Makes sense to me. |

Yeah, unfortunately some of these leagues these kids play in don't allow it until a certain age even if they signed there ELC'S. |

If you are under contract for the sabres, the sabres should be training you and developing you, not a soft euro league burying you on the 4th line or some bum phuck town in alberta playing with 16 year olds

I agree homie, but just doesn't happen, especially with some of the rules in juniors. |

Be a decent get for them. Think Crouse would be a perfect fit to are top 9. Think a line of Crouse Cozens Peterka could do some damage. |

That's what Appert-Peca are there for. They set up a nice program. Appert did follow Granato as HC at the USNDP, they have familiarity with each other. Setting a smooth transition from Rochester to Buffalo on the system. |

SHOULD THE ISLANDERS PURSUE PULJUJARVI?
NYI HOCKEY NOW: Stefen Rosner suggests Jesse Puljujarvi might be a more affordable option for the Islanders in their quest to add a forward this season. The 24-year-old winger recently agreed to a one-year, $3 million deal with the Oilers.
Rosner cited Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman recently reporting the Oilers wanted to move Puljujarvi for a draft pick. However, interested teams have limited salary-cap space and prefer the Oilers take a player in return. Rosner suggested the Isles offer up Kieffer Bellows and a third-round pick. |

What if” stories are always entertaining to discuss even though they don’t truly matter once decisions have been made. But long-time Red Wings blogger George Malik discovered a fun nugget this week when he translated a behind-a-paywall Kleine Zeitung story about events surrounding the Detroit Red Wings‘ decision to draft center Marco Kasper with the eighth overall pick.
The Red Wings weren’t the only NHL team planning to use a top 10 pick to draft Kasper.
Kasper’s father Peter told the Austrian newspaper Kleine Zeitung that the Buffalo Sabres had planned to take Kasper with the No. 9 pick. Kasper played in the Swedish League, but he is Austrian.
The story, translated, stated: “The Sabres, who also picked Austrian Thomas Vanek in 2005, were so confident in Kasper that they even discussed a trade with the Red Wings. |

nice find
if kasper was their guy, they should have used some of that draft capital to move up a spot or 2
hopefully adams will learn from this |

IMO, they got one hell of a player in Savoie. If Kasper is better, question to me is how much?
He's 6'2" so he's bigger and brings more physicality in his style of play which is appealing..yet, Savoie has never been criticized for playing a weak game by any means.
I'm good with Savoie.

agreed if kasper was a guy. not their guy
then again they did get their guy in the second round, so most likely they had similar grades on savoie and kasper |

That’s exactly what I am thinking. If they wanted him so badly. We could’ve easily moved up with the picks we had.
I don’t buy the story. A lot of teams tell players they want them also |

I’m also great with the pick. I’m assuming when preparing for the draft.
You have pick 9. You have a list of 2-3 guys you want with the pick
Possibly savoie and Kasper were both on that small list
