You got younger, cheaper and better two-way play with that deal. Now how 'bout you trade Montour back with your 2023 2nd for Jacob Bryson (half retained) to help the Panthers cap situation?
Jokiharju if you ask nicely 🙃 - Hank Balling
Montour is gonna fill in some of what was lost with Weegar leaving.

Yeah, this is the one the Panthers need to figure out
The Yandle penalty becomes way more bearable next season, though. That'll help |

Hornqvist deal comes off the books, too.
Edit; One more year of Bob, at least, probably two... |

That's nice too.
Do you think Bob will waive? I'll never forget when he chose Florida in FA and he said something like "I am from Russia. I want to see palm trees."
Edit: found it
"Plus living conditions: you play a winter sport in the very south, around palm trees and the ocean." Damn right, Bob |

Decent Read!! Very long, he definitely put some time in. - Buff36
Hey Brother, Good pull and thanks for sharing out!
Man, he did put some effort into it, good stuff...however after reading; I was not feeling so good about the draftees, as this guy does take his analysis to a lower/more detailed place. He provides much more that other Scouting Reports I have read to date. Good detail, he may be a bit harsh compared go others, not that that is a bad thing. |

He may when Knight takes over the #1 netminding duties. One more year before they start to work that transition. I think the trade protection drops from full no movement the last couple of years of the deal. |

Who would take him at that price though? Maybe you offer him and a first or two for future considerations to Chicago or something. But other than that I can’t see anyone wanting him. Yea |

I think the last few years of his deal is low actual dollars paid for the cap hit amount, could help make him more movable. Except teams in that position would probably be first on his no-trade list. It may come down to Bob just wanting a chance to remain a starter (assuming Knight eventually supplants him in FL). Zito is gonna earn that wizard’s hat if/when he somehow pulls this one off, but I think it’ll be two years before he’s able to move Bob. Rumors say he’s currently trying to find somewhere for Bob, but FL needs Bob this year (and into next, at least, imo), Knight isn’t ready to be the #1, yet. No sense in rushing him, Bob was much better last year than many realize.

Jake Oettinger remains an unsigned restricted free agent with training camp drawing closer.
According to sources, there hasn't been much in the way of dialogue between the two sides even though they have both expressed interest in getting something done. Dallas' salary cap situation and a lack comparable contracts are believed to be among the stumbling blocks. Oettinger has displayed plenty of potential, but the Stars may also take a cautious approach.
IMO I would go all in for him if I was Adams |

I was surprised how far he actually took it, you can tell he watched some video on these kids. I am trying to get my positivity up for this year and the future. But after reading some different things on these picks, kinda pushes me back to thinking the Sabres should have jumped into the fray a bit harder, missed a opportunity. |

He looked like the real deal vs Calgary in the playoffs.
Although I can see Dallas being leery of throwing a huge deal his way just yet. I wonder what it would take to get him away from Dallas, are they one of the teams up against the cap? |

$10.3 in cap with Robertson and Oettinger yet to sign. Both are due some real money |

I think that goalie would be worth the risk and money. He’s young and fits and you know he’s somewhat proven.
But Adams won’t do that. Not in the cards |

I didn’t mean what we’d have to pay him
I meant what Dallas would ask for in a trade
Adams does seem to be quite high on Levi,
so he might not be willing to pay what Dallas would want for Oettinger

How is he proven?
Compare his 7 games of amazing play to his regular season play, as they were not the same.
He does not have many NHL starts.
Easy to see why Dallas is hesitant to back up the money truck just yet. |

Esteemed blogger sir, are you really thinking Pegula is going to be amenable to paying Brandon Montour a nearly $5M bonus before the 23-24 season...?

11 years of playoff appearances on 3 teams.
Jez, maybe there are glue guys who bring a culture of winning. |

Always need those glue guys, Sabres didn't have that through early Eichel years, and it really hurt that team. |

So the Sharks have I believe 6 goalie's in there system. If they are not able to trade 1 by the end of Camp. Rumor is they could put Hill on waivers, would you put a claim in. |
