Flip side. Bjork is on a 1-way deal, so they'll pay him either way. ELC's are 2-way. Sending Bjork down would cost them real $. Stadiums aren't cheap.

If they didn't want Bjork around, they should have bought him out. It would have been extremely cheap.

I really think the pegulas have a long term plan for a new stadium downtown.

Zero improvements over the past decade.
Everything is dirty and outdated

Need the team to be competitive before getting any fan support.

They didn’t forget, they don’t care. They don’t care about actually winning games

Klingberg for 1 year 7 million, thank God we have no need for A RHD
- Mentalorgasm5

Yes, that is exactly what we needed - an overpaid guy that won't be around when it is time to compete. There is a reason why nobody was willing to pay for the guy.

This whole "they aren't trying to win" narrative is stupid. They are trying to grow their prospects.

Do you know how much they were going to be?
Last I heard they were surveying STH with various options.

Nothing set in stone yet, I just won't pay for the PSL's. After as long as we have had tickets I don't think I should have to. Family was loyal through some really bad Football.

Its called buying an asset. You can sign him for free and flip him if/when you’re eliminated

But they have no interest in anything that costs $.

Sign Kling, have him play on the 2nd PP and 3rd minutes, toss him 7M, trade him at the DL for a 2nd round pick, stick Joker back in there, bam free asset for a crappy defender that amounts to an extra win per season

How many teams are going to spend several mill in the hopes that they get a 2nd rounder out of him? They were apparently very willing to take on JVR - the difference there is that he is a winger and you are guaranteed on the return (not to mention the benefit of flipping him later).

Hearing the Blackhawks have been engaged in trade discussions with teams about Patrick Kane. Dallas among the teams most recently interested.

It's amazing to see how far the LIV golf has come between the first tournament and today

PGA now has a pest that won't go away

They were seeking a 1st to take JVR right...from a really poopty team that likely gets them another top 5 or 10 pick. Big difference IMO.

20/32 NFL teams (not inc Buffalo) currently employ PSLs.

It's a common cash grab.

Yes, exactly. And that's why it made sense to do in that situation and not for a guy like Klingberg.

I think Dallas is another team that is stuck in the middle. They have some aging vets and they figure they will take one last stab at it by throwing in another vet. Being in the middle is the worst, I think.

Why doesn’t it make sense exactly?

It’s pretty simple. You sign a good player to a rehab deal, retain half at the deadline if you’re eliminated and get a good asset back

And you can’t use the lame bogus growing prospects excuse here as we have no RD in the system and it’s an actual need.

According to tax information gathered from the Packers since they aren't privately owned. Every team got a check for 324m last year from TV rights and that isn't including the new streaming deals yet.

Both have been on the decline for a while now. I think I saw Seguin listed on a "worst contract" list.
