You're giving term to a guy who will be 35 when he signs the deal and another guy who will be turning 30 in the middle of the first season of his new deal.

Selke Larry and the locomotive are both LWs. I think Girgensons might be training his replacement. They're pretty interchangeable

Big difference is Asplund can play up in the lineup and off-sets their major defensive weakness. Wish they had 2. 25m of cap space should have opened some doors.

I say give that C to Tuch and let him run with it. Also, the Sabres where a much happier team for 2 reasons,

1) They got rid of the cancer in the room Eichel.
2) they started winning

They don't and should not need Okie to sustain that. In fact I would be floored if they make him Captain. They should be looking to unload him for an asset at the trade deadline and if Okie does not want to go, fine. But If I was Okie, I would accept a trade to try and win a cup and I retire after this year. one more hit to the head and he could have some serious issues.
