At a price the Panthers likely felt was too rich for them in their state of their build, while getting a guy a few years younger for same term for a little cheaper. Congrats to flames on the Hubbie extension. Can see who makes out better down the line. I suspect the extras make it a deal in Calgary's favor.

Just as well we sent him on his way if thats what he was wanting. I loved hubie and even though tkachuk is pretty well 8 figures he isnt quite and you cant keep piling on 8 figure deals (see toronto) we already have 2 and that is 2 too many. Im sure hubie was going to free agency but when trev offered pretty close to max he probably figured take it in case i have a down year

May not be what he wanted in FLO, but what CAL thought they had to offer after his comments upon the trade and rumors he was going to ride the year out and head to Montreal. 10.5 is more than he can make with a max contract in quebec after all the take aways.

Does Huberdeau have a no-trade clause? Will the Flames have enough money to sign Weeger to a long-term contract? I congratulate Huberdeau, but I think I would have stuck with a five-year contract with his age being a factor.

I think i read there as a no trade attached for the first few years at least.

Scary to think what mackinnon is going to get. Yikes

I think Huberdeau's performance will depend on his chemistry with his other teammates. If he sucks, his contract will be hard to unload like the Panthers with Bobrovsky.

Does anybody know if Maurice has picked out his assistants yet?

Full no trade first 6 year, needs to submit a 12 team list he would accept a trade to the final 2 years. Almost all money is signing bonus so it's buyout proof too.

That is very interesting. I cannot wait to see how this unfolds in the upcoming season.
