Pagnotta from the 4th period
#Isles fans, multiple transactions are looking close. In addition to all the Nazem Kadri chatter, which I believe is valid, some internal house cleaning is also being taken care of. When will all the dominoes fall? That’s up to you-know-who. |

Love how the Isles (Lou) are always in stealth mode. In on more players than people realize. Showed significant interest in Matthew Tkachuk too. #Isles |

Is Andy being sarcastic? It's great to be in on players but better to get some or one of them. |

So strange to celebrate being in on players. It's easy to have interest.

Who's celebrating? He just mentions that he is in on more people than they think. I don't think anybody is celebrating that little bit of info |

Just seems odd Vukota. Most teams will have interest in top players. It only counts if you get one.

I guess what you take from all of that is that Lou knows he's in need of change, and he's not sitting on his hands a la Garth Snow, year after year, saying he believes in his lockeroom. I think the season starts with a different roster than last year...

Given the fact that the Isles seemingly need to overpay to attract free agents, this is more than just concerning. At 32 Kadri getting a five to seven year deal could really look bad over time, especially as he almost inevitably sees a dip in his numbers post Avalanche. He could potentially be a nice add for a few years but it still obviously fails to solve our need for a talented goal scorer.
If there are other moves in place, it's equally concerning to see what type of sweetner we had to add to drop some salary.

Well, it is nice to know that mgmt and ownership are 'trying' to do something as opposed to the lackadaisical efforts we had seen in years past. From that standpoint, the most important component of adding Kadri may be the optics |

Nobody is disputing that. I just don't get where you think anybody is celebrating him being in on anybody. All Strickland said was he is in on more players than people think. Either way something has to give sooner or later

If its a 3 year deal are you still concerned with Kadri's age? |

I'd agree with you......i read somewhere (which could be bs) that theres talk of a three year deal. Either way if you're Kadri you should absolutely be 5 year minimum
I believe Kadri has 5 years in him.......Lou Lam, not so much ha |

I think that would be a shock. This is Kadri's cash grab. A 32 yo player coming off a Stanley Cup season with his best season ever is likely looking for the biggest and best payout in years and cash. Undoubtedly other teams offered five plus years at $6m+. |

No doubt, i absolutely agree......he's got the recipe to be paid for sure. Lest we forget that Lou invented the front load contract. Bonus' make payment interesting. Im no accountant, but front loading a contract laden with bonus money to circumvent the cap was brilliant. |

Celebrating was the wrong word. I have no doubt Lou would be in on a lot of players. I guess it was nothing new for me in terms of news. I think even Garth was in on players. Probably not to the same level. |

I had no doubt this ownership and Lou are trying to add. Kadri is a new player just a matter of the price and if other moves can be made.

Garth was easy to control. The entire committee thing was a lousy idea. Neil Smith was a Cup winning GM who handled the pressure of working in NY and he started out his career working with Bill and Al. Isles just needed to let him run the show and get out of the way.

I think it’s funny that people are saying it’s great to know that lameriello is at least trying to get players. That’s setting the bar real low
