He is definitely no.Crosby, and he just signed a 4yr NMC contract. I guess his only motivation is to stay healthy not to suck! Time will tell... - PENS1989
With any luck Putin has him in Boot Camp. Hell just have to hide out and sneak out of Russia again in tip top military shape. |

I'm happy for him, his parents (frank)ed him. The only one I'm mad at is Rutherford haha. But a big part of that had to be Sid, JJ needed money. |

I could see his summer workouts being Richarding with the puck at center ice. A contest who can hit every S on the boards first and 20 one timers. Back to fishing. |

I am still trying to figure out how Geno got left off of the NHL's "top 100 of all time", especially when dirty cheap shot artists like Pronger were on it.
I sometimes wonder what Geno's career numbers would look like if he had first line wingers on his line. |

Well, he's likely to finish in the top 30 when his career finishes up, maybe even top 20, so higher than that maybe?
That list was complete bullpoop. Toews is the most overrated NHL player of all time.

Do you think he can surpass Ovi in points total? He definitely will have a better PPG career.
Geno is the best! |

Probably not. He won't have played enough games, but Malkin is currently 16th all time in PPG.

(frank) yea he's overrated, and we had to listen to Hawks fans saying 3-1 in cups that's why Toews is better then once it was evened up they disappeared quick lol.
Edit: Was also overpaid by 5mil. Kane was the only one worth 10.5. |

Damn you guys had me looking at Sid, Geno and Ovi and Sid will get 900 assist this year, Ovi will get 1300gp 800 goals, Geno 1000gp and 1200 points. |

Sid will be passing a few all time Pens this year in assists...Trottier, Murphy and possibly Recchi. Still a few behind Ronnie Franchise though lol.
What really blew my mind is after Sid's 3rd assist next season, 8 of the top 20 all time will have played for the Pens at some point.
And imo no top lists are worth sh!t if they exclude Red Army/CCCP/WHL players.

I am hoping the younger guys can step up and make some players expendable aka Dumo, Zucker, Kap maybe even Pettersson. So that we can get another solid winger for Geno. If we had one more solid top 6 winger I think we would be solid. Heck I think if we brought in Kessel as someone else suggested, I think the second line would be solid. |

Friedman said 5 days before FA that if a big fish stayed on the market well past expected than he said 100% they’re going to the Isles. Looks like he was right |

Does anybody have any insight on these reclamation projects Poehling/Smith. Do they have any reasonable shot of being regular NHL players? - madmike71
Smith a year ago was coming off a strong rookie year and had been a top 20 prospect coming in. Struggled big time last year. Potentially this is a home run situation or a bust, but that's offensive defensemen in general.
Poehling has largely been in NHL and hasn't been bad but hasn't wowed people either. Could carve out a decent career as a bottom 6 center. |

It would be cool to know since 2000 (or when he entered the league) how many players have better PPG than Geno. I bet not more than 2-3 players (considering players who've played more than 800 games) |

I do think Poehling has the potential to be our 4th line C moving forward. I dunno why Blueger couldn't be our 3rd line C now. He's a steady player. |

Yea we may very well need Blue to center the third line and move Carter to wing. That's if Poehling can be a center for the 4th line haha |

I see Poehling a player in the same level of O'Connor with a little more experience obviously. Nothing wrong about that. I really hope both earn their playing time on the 4th line. |
