I think Moreno is gonna be stupid good, so if he's getting traded, I'm very much hoping it's for a top flight guy.

Hader is a top closer and people are saying the Padres didn't give up any of the guys they'd be including in a Soto trade. So if that's the case, Moreno shouldn't be involved in any trade that isn't Soto, in my opinion.

Have to address the areas of need. Note the Yankees biggest piece to acquire Montras was the 5th ranked minor leaguer in their system (70th in the majors)

Moreno is incredibly good defensively already. His speed to first base was the fastest clocked this year in MLB. He has the potential to win batting titles. Difficult to name an equivalent past or present. Don't need to include him in a deal as demonstrated by the Yankees.

I give it a year, maybe two, and Moreno will be better than both. I love Kirk, but he'd be the guy I trade. His value will never be higher. Could get a great return for him. But that doesn't help the team right now.

And Moreno is the #1 prospect in all of Baseball. The #1 prospect in the sport should be considered a huge over payment for a good/decent return.

This is a huge thing, too. On top of not just trading the #1 prospect in all of Baseball.

Other teams are trading lower tier prospects and getting guys of similar levels. It should be costing, just looking at comparisons, Leo Jimenez or Otto Lopez.

I still think Moreno is worth more on the trade market than he is to the Jays given the way they’re set at the catcher position. Kirk is an amazing hitter and only one year older than Moreno. Jansen knows how to call a game. Pitchers have settled down since he’s been back.

If he can bring the Jays what they need now, I say move him. And what they need is a starter and some good guys for the pen.

The Houston Astros are finalizing a deal to acquire catcher Christian Vázquez from the Boston Red Sox, sources tell ESPN.

The Red Sox are playing in Houston tonight, so Vázquez presumably will just walk around the stadium to join his new teammates. And the Sox's sale begins.
