It's unlikely, yeah, but I've been reading a bunch about the Padres being the front runner, along with St. Louis, and if that's really their offer, I don't understand how the Jays aren't blowing it out of the water.

Teo is an allstar and 2 time defending silver slugger. Him alone smokes that offer.

Depending on who you are talking to, Juan Soto is the best player to be traded (if he does get traded) since Babe Ruth. He's 23 and you get one of the best hitters (both power and average) in the league plus he's an elite fielder. No way Washington wins this deal, just like Miami lost the Miguel Cabrera deal.

I've made clear my stance on Moreno and how much I love the kids future, but I'd 100% make him part of the trade for Soto. And since he's the #1 prospect in all of Baseball, he trumps any and all prospects offered by other teams.

What is complicating the Soto deal is that Washington (and their cheapo owner) are forcing teams to pick up the contract of Patrick Corbin, who has two years left on a $140M 6 year deal. He's considered by many to be the worst starting pitcher in baseball. 6.49 ERA and -1.9 WAR this season. That diminishes the value that Washington gets back. Yankees couldn't care less about money, but San Diego surely does. Yankees also would have no problem re-signing Soto. Can't see any reason why they wouldn't be in on this. Soto batting 3rd and Judge batting cleanup would be scary good.
