All the excuses are now over for Frost; whether they were valid or not. He needs to show he is part of the solution. Along with Tippet as well. Maybe it is me though I do not see many teams worrying about defending that line, we shall see.

Like I said yesterday it is time to start producing in real points. No more underlying metrics look good stuff.

- hello it's me 2050

I agree with all of this.

40 point season a dream for me, unfortunately I also have a nightmare seeing him just break 20 points.
- konalover711

I can’t argue this. It’s do or died. Provorov had 41 points his second season. Konency 47 points in his second season. Farabee 38 in his second season which was a half season. 40 points is reasonable for a young player like Frost.

Wait, what are you trying to goat me into exactly? You suggested 40 points. To me that would be a good start. Why would you suggest 40 points if you don’t believe in that number? In fact, why are my expectations important to you at all?

dumb donald. Keep up the good work.

Triumph most underrated rock band of all time! Stones can't hold a candle to them instrumentally! Do the Flyers still suck? FIRE CHUCK! Thanks!
- Phillywhiteout

Lets look at their respective hits and discography.
Not sure Triumph really is in the same comparison as the stones who span 60 years of a catalogue.

I was actually just trying to stir up some shyte on here cause I get tired of the same ole same ole. The Flyers suck....yada yada yada. To compare the Stones and Triumph would be ridiculous simply because of the Stones longevity. I should have actually said that Rick Emmett is a better musician than anyone that the Stones can put on stage or ever have put on stage. He is certainly one of the most(if not the most) underrated guitarists of all time. It blows me away that many of the top 100 lists don't have him on there. Thanks! Oh, and please FIRE CHUCK!
- Phillywhiteout

The discussion was Triumph in comparison to the Stones. There are many, many musicians that you can say are better than the members of the Stones. Those with musical expertise can answer better. However as a band, no comparison. Longevity has nothing to do with it.

Here is the Rolling Stone magazine top 100 guitarists of all time. Keith Richards is #4 all time. Rick Emmet did not make the list. Mick Taylor was also in the top 40. It seems as though the musical world does not agree with you.

Hak's team got blown off the ice in both of his two playoff appearances.

Yes, they did. The lack of talent eventually shows up.

Rewatch the late season games against Pittsburgh (matched against Crosby line much of the game) and St. Louis. They were buzzing.

Bill,

He will just discount it and say it was "time of season" and others weren't trying...yadda, yadda, yadda. Neglecting the fact of course that in comparison to other Flyers lines they looked better...despite those lines playing in the same conditions...and also discounting that 3rd and 4th lines for all teams rarely coast as they are all either trying to save their jobs or prove they belong higher up. It's non-sensical as others (and yourself) have pointed out

Still doesn't change anything I said.

How many players over the years have seen buzzing at the end of the year to never carry it over?

It is put up or shut up time for many "young" players at this point.

The hockey writers have Ellis starting the season on the top pair, is there any news there or are they just unaware of the situation?

No I wouldn't. When there is no pressure or less pressure to win it becomes it becomes a less stressful environment. Players are more relaxed.
- hello it's me 2050

And "more relaxed" translates into higher production... how?

What about the players who already have long term contracts secured? I am sure Scott Laughton and the like where under immense pressure.
- hello it's me 2050

We're talking about Morgan Frost and JVR, who had 0-1 year left on their deals, and who's futures were pretty much up in the air.

The pressure was still very much on them.

Doesn’t change the fact that he needs to be better this year. 15 games at the end of last season means nothing if he struggles out of the gate and this team can’t put the puck in the net.

There is 100% a calmer presence when playing in a game you know doesn’t matter. There were a ton of injures as well so these players didn’t have to look over their shoulder much. It’s time for these kids to play good hockey when the games count.

More relaxed doesn't have you looking over your shoulder. Lets you go out there loose and play your game..

The pressure is less. You disagree. Works for me.

Just a coincidence JVR played better when the season was well over.

The schedule for October and November is brutal. I can see a Black Friday pasting by the Pens being Chuck's last game as GM.

Sure, maybe looser players could take more risks with the puck than they otherwise would, or grip their sticks less, yada yada.

Being at a lower competitive state would also mean you're less likely to battle as hard, less likely to take a hit to make a play, less likely to bust your hump to get to a puck, less likely to go to the dirty areas, less likely to pay attention to the details, etc, all of which contribute to producing goals.

Right?
