They hadn’t had these types of players over the last decade…aside from Simmonds, who also was a good hockey player…..where did it get them? wussy hockey for a poopty team….great mix…all kinds of fun to watch…lol….Used properly there’s still room for this type of player and they do serve a role. The difference is that in today’s game they also have to be able to bring other intangibles to the table. I’m not sure on Delauriers as I’ve seen some of his games but really didn’t notice him. Mac had some games where he played very well, but still seemed to be more of a tweener. The kid I hoped and still do hope can bring that part of the game is Allison….but until he actually can stay healthy anything he would bring this year would almost seem like a bonus…truth is though he’s also a good hockey player. - landros 2 You can't compare these two cement heads to Simmonds when he was here. Simmonds could actually play the game and provided a critical net front presence on the PP. Totally different element was provided by Simmonds. Look at the better teams in the league. They may have players like this, but they can play the game and contribute in other ways. |

Aren't Deslauries and MacEwen redundant? - PLindbergh31

I believe I did. I don't believe the Flyers planned on DeAngelo but felt pressured to make the move once they found out about Ellis's condition. Now if you want to argue that if it wasn't DeAngelo it would have been someone else I can't argue that point. But if that someone else was Tkachuk, I would have been back on the Fletcher bandwagon. - jd250
The Flyers have known Ellis's condition for 9 months heading into free agency. They absolutely planned to try and get a player to help off set Ellis.
Again, you aren't addressing the point. The point was that you argued over and over that Fletcher wasn't going to cap out the team. Told me to listen to his press conferences. I told you he was going to. Just another in a long, long list.
Your posting essentially amounts to you posting in agreement to what many have been telling you for years. While pretending that all of your opinions of the past stating differently don't exist and that you knew it all along. It's actually quite comical. |

As horrible as the contract is, I’m looking forward to ND fighting. IMO he is the toughest guy in the league. - ClaudeFather
I agree the contract is awful….I’m hoping there’s more there then just his toughness. |

If by element you mean skill….I agree and suggested Simmonds was good. I would love a Tom Wilson or in his prime Wayne Simmonds. No one is expecting either of those guys to add any offence. We’ll see what Delauriers is soon enough and see if there are the other intangibles Bozo talked about when they signed him. |

Bill you see any players getting any PTO invites by the Flyers? |

Bill, how’s Ryan Ellis doing, any update at all? - ClaudeFather
They're carefully scotch taping his groin back together as we speak. |

Clarke ought to tell that guy from Sportster (who named him one of the worst GM's) to "get out of my office ya big baby!" "What are we trading here, wheat?" "Restrict of trade..." |

Really? Pretty much accepted the QO then? I guess his agent and the team kinda said, we are going to destroy you in the hearing. Lets stop this nonsense and sign the offer.
Edit: He actually took less than the QO. ($990,000) - MBFlyerfan

He does kill penalties a little bit, unlike Zack. |

Apparently he can kill penalties. But I have no idea.
