They can’t but they may none the less - Cptmjl
This has to be the most frustrating off season I can recall as a fan.
So much (possibly) going on, but being pretty certain I’m not gonna like any of it. |

Some of that $5M from Varlamov will need to be allocated to signing a backup goaltender
The Islanders can't afford to compensate anyone for taking their bad contracts - eichiefs9
Isles have all their picks next 2 years, both drafts are loaded with talent. |

I’m already half way through the 5 stages of grief, and the bastard hasn’t even officially signed yet. 😅 |

Yes and a severe dearth of talent in the prospect pool. They can't just keep trading away valuable assets to fix their cap issues |

Broken records time but Hockey has the worst offseason ever and it's especially bad with the Islanders.

In a Cap world you have to make the tough decisions and not give every vet a long term deal. It catches up with you.

Very good read and I agree with it. - niteislander
Good article. Never really put much weight what this site says but I totally agree with its insight to Barzal or Nelson moving to the wing. |

If Lou can trade Bailey without giving up any assets, give him GM of the year the day he does it. |

Not I since that's what I've said this whole time. Not gonna be shocked if Lou just brings back the same team. Don't get me wrong, I hope he brings in help to win a cup. - Isleshockeyman
Totally possible he starts with what he has and then if its a bad start he needs to make some changes/additions. If they are in the hunt and playing well then a TDL acquisition is probably what we see.
Referring to a prior post you made. If Lou made a trade he would in fact have to submit it to the League office for approval. Ones that happens it will get out from a league employee, If he has a contract/deal in principle with Kadri and his agent with the contract even being signed that he can wait for because there is no other team involved. The fact Kadri wants $9 mil per could be the reason why he hasn't signed with anyone at this point. That said Lou could also have him signed and is waiting to announce just like he did with Parise etc. All I know is no one knows other than Lou and a few persons in his hockey ops team and they won't say a (frank)ing thing. |

We would probably only have to give up a 2nd for someone to take that |

Every team could use an unvaxxed player who scored .25ppg in Sweden's second-tier league |

Thanks for the info. Wasn't sure if a trade needed to be sent immediately or if they can wait. Also, you are correct that none of us know what Lou is doing or has done. |
