I really don't think most people understand how the internet and social media works.
1. Someone who has a dopey site that talks about hockey writes something that's absurd. Ex- "Islanders are rumored to be shopping JGP." "Possible Barzal being moved is option for Lou."
2. Every other dope who has a site writes about the rumor for clickbait...

99% of the stuff being talked about his Bull Sht. IF Lou needs to shed salary he will move Bailey and/or Varly depending on how much cap he needs. If he doesn't then they will be on the team in October...

Beau will have his best year as an islander b/c he will get more PP time. He also won't get benched for 2 games b/c he happened to be on the ice when Chara got abused like a traffic cone.
If the Islanders trade him like all of you want.. you will be furious when he scored 30+ on another team.

He may have deals in place with other teams pending league approval. If he’s signing Kadri I’m sure he does. I’m not going to make pretend I actually know but I assume a trade isn’t announced till it’s approved by the league and whatever team(s) he may have something going on with are keeping it quiet. It doesn’t do them any favors to leak anything out until it’s finalized.

I almost don't want them to sign Kadri just for the reactions on social media Lots of people setting themselves up to be outraged and hugely disappointed if Lou just announces his own RFA's signed, and they are bringing back either Chara or Greene

Not I since that's what I've said this whole time. Not gonna be shocked if Lou just brings back the same team. Don't get me wrong, I hope he brings in help to win a cup.

Whatever Lou does I have to think the playoffs are a must this year. Malkin and Ledecky will not be happy with missing the playoffs again with a new building.

Well yeah sure. If he does nothing and pretty much 86’s our blue line by doing what you say then there will be some rightful outrage. If they sign Kadri to a 9 million per contract and dump a center there will also be outrage. Kind of painted himself in a corner. Of course there may be neither and the world will rejoice.

So since you all think I am nuts and Vukota things I drink in the mornings. Bourbon would be choice...How about this little diddy.

If in fact Lou has signed Kadri.

Trade Barzal to the Bruins for Pastrnak

Boston is looking for a #1 center. Pasta is making 6.6 and is UFA next year.

Send Bailey and #1 to whoever will take him.

Isles have 400k in cap space.

- Nfdbulldawg

Leave to the Bruins to ruin a perfectly good internet gm trade.

This 100%. They miss the playoffs again Lou is gone. They can call it retirement, whatever they want, but he gone.

You're right. Everyone knows what he is trying to do, if he did in fact sign Kadri. If you're a GM and Lou calls looking to make a trade, you know what's going on. Maybe since Lou knows that other GM's know what he's trying to do, he's trying to not get bent over a barrel.

Exactly! If Lou's contract is done they can call it retirement. Lou is an all time great GM but you cannot miss the playoffs with a new building twice in a row under most owners.

I was thinking more if he signed somewhere else and it comes out the Isles never even offered him a contract

But if they know what he’s trying to do already(of course they do the whole world knows) it’s not going to make a damn bit a difference

Maybe Lou is battling CRS (cant remember sh!t) and forgot to submit the trade paperwork, along with Kadri's signing. Therefore he did not see his shadow before his rip van winkle nap. Now we have six more weeks of silence.

That would be an interesting twist to have Barzal locked up before the season. My question here is two fold. Can the negotiate with Barzal this early? If this is the case than more than one player is being moved to facilitate this. Especially if Kadri is signed as well.

Yes I believe on July 13th they are allowed to negotiate, like MacKinnon can.

Varly's 5 mill is gone there is the money.

And definitely moving Bailey and Beau. Bailey to Arizona, Armstrong said he is open to doing such deals if compensated correctly to do so.

Some of that $5M from Varlamov will need to be allocated to signing a backup goaltender

The Islanders can't afford to compensate anyone for taking their bad contracts

Risky but I think trading Varly is the right move and should have been done early on. Many teams are in trouble if they lose the #1 goalie anyway.

Ok thanks, however I’ll let him answer that when and if he ever comes to a game. He may actually take me up on a beer at a game. I’ve met a few guys on here that aren’t afraid to show themselves and they are actually nice guys. Not a pr!ck like me.
