Let’s not fool ourselves Beau doesn’t have much value either or he would be gone already. Its just that he most likely has a little more trade value then Bailey does whose value is negative.

So nice nobody values the Islanders players.

If he has too yes imo. I said this a while back on here. He very well may be the odd man out if we’re signing Kadri. If he trades Nelson or Barzal he’s completely out of his mind and if can’t dump Bailey or Beau OR doesn’t want to move any of his centers to wing(not saying this is THE issue of course)to a lesser extent Pageau is the only “logical” choice. I don’t agree with it in any way and think it were a bad move but it’s possible.

I just feel like he brough in JGP specifically as a piece to the puzzle. I think the bottom 6 for the isles is excellent. The only issue really is the 1RW. Who knows what Lou's plan is, but he obviously was the GM to bring in JGP....i just dont see how now moving him. But what do i know

Aha!!! You're not actually Canadian! You had the amicable and civil part down, but you did not apologize for disagreeing with him.

At least we dont live in Canada.....they were going door to door, and freezing bank accounts. Everyone loves to throw out the Hitler reference......well i'd argue thats more Nazi Germany, than anything Trump
- kindlyrick

And then they were wondering why Johnny G and Tkachuk left. No American watching what's happening in Canada would want to stay there and raise a family.

Well some of this thread does. That means nothing of course

I guess we can’t trade Bailey “at will”.

Does Lou really trade a guy that he just gave up a first for
- kindlyrick

Does he even remember that he traded a 1st for him?

I agree with all stated about the Vaccine idiocy... but you can't really blame Lou. they literally would not let the guy in Canada for games without being Vaccinated.
- niteislander

I dont think Lou is to blame. Its the policy of the Canadian government. Case in point, having teams drive a bus from buffalo over the border because had they flown into Lester B, they'd have to quarantine for two weeks. Somehow the crossing of the boarder via Bus, was not a covid threat.

JGp isn't going anywhere.. the guy is a fantastic 2 way player who is out there for every important face off, kills penalties and scores a ton of goals on 3rd line. The only people who want to trade him are morons who only look at points & Salary and say....

He is overpaid... He isn't.

Good point. Realistically, if Lou signs Kadri, he will not be GM at contract expiration

Is it a Lou rule, or an NHL rule? I was under the assumption it was an NHL rule, but i could be wrong.
- kindlyrick

It's a Canada rule.. which is why all the MLB players who are not vaccinated have to stay home when their team plays Toronto.

Yeah I know just completely moronic at this point imo.
- Cptmjl

Not touching on the vaccine mandates at all, I was just pointing out that Bode Wilde probably has negative trade value because of his production and the fact that he couldn't play any games in Canada. So anyone throwing his name around as some sort of asset in a trade is leaning hard on some wishful thinking

I know you weren’t and agreed. The guy has no value other then a throw in who doesn’t move the needle as far as a trade goes.

It made as much sense as Kryie Irving not being allowed to play, but he could sit in the stands...

I just hope the predecessor is someone with experience and the resume and not just Chris Lamoriello

How about actors and sports figures being absolved of getting the vaccine but nobody else in NY. Follow the science. That’s it I’m done I promise

If this season goes to crap it may not be Chris Lameriello. If we make the playoffs and compete I would make a lofty bet it will be Chris Lameriello.

After the time spent by ownership to hand pick Lou Lam, id like to think they would bring in someone with the qualifications as opposed to the last name.

The next GM better be able to connect with young players and be able to sign quality FA's. I'd rather Chris not get the job.

Ironically enough those are the people that catch Covid 5 times. Everyone will find out a whole lot over the next few years. Book it.

I don’t know enough about his son to really have an opinion. I’ll also add, who would you want? I believe other then Sakic and Yzerman it’s pretty much a crap shoot of garbage.

He has been in the wings learning from his father for years. You may not want him for whatever reason but he’s more then likely next in line.
