hahaha
no thanks to Karlsson
Hanifin is a stud and still young
Karrlson had 1 good year and cashed in - cpltanto
Hanifin is American. He’s not re-signing with the flames. |

No. Any trade with Vegas would have to be huge overpay on their part. They need to move cap and every team knows it.
I’m good starting the year with this D until we know Weegar’s status, I don’t see the Flames moving any of the top 4 out. Now Treliving gets him extended then I would bet that Hanifin is probably the one that brings back a center. - K-man25
As much as Weegar makes up his own mind, now that Hubie is inked, he should follow suit shortly. BT doesn't want to go into the season with a question mark. He wants to deal the excess D while there is a decent market. Won't just left Valimaki go to waivers. While the chances of one of the excess D getting claimed the last days before the season are relatively low, there are porch pirates out there that build their teams that way. Very good change it's Valimaki and Mackey getting waived as the ones with the least recent NHL experienced.
So, Vegas, we shall offer to help you out by giving you Dube and Valimaki for Karlsson and Roy.
The other potential partner is CAR. Valimaki and Dube for Necas. Send back Fast if it makes things work better.

Karlsson for Hanifin - TurdFergeson
25 year old Hani (2 x 4.95) would bring back a hell of a lot more than 29 year old Karlsson (5 x 5.9).

I’m sure there’s more than 1 or 2 fans that flinch everytime the Flames draft an American! Cornato next one out?

No thanks on the Vegas offer - TurdFergeson
It's just an example of how Vegas deserves the cap problems it has, so any offer is going to be an anchor not a lifeboat.
There may be a team stupid enough to help out Vegas at "par" value. Again. But I thought VAN had enough of Vegas cast offs. Must be a great hockey environment where every new toy means that a heart and soul guy gets shipped off. Show some class. MAF, Schmidt, Tuch, Krabs, Patches, Dadanov (x2), Reaves. That's just one year.

Our top 4 could be:
Weegar–Andersson
Kylington-Tanev
To Flames
Jean-Gabriel Pageau
Aatu Raty

I think once Weegar has inked a new deal that Hanifin makes the most sense to move for forward help. |

I agree, Flames should be targeting a younger top 6 forward. Hanifin is 25, has played more than 500 games so far and is just coming off his best offensive season yet! - K-man25
Exactly & then factor in 2 more years at a great cap hit, the return should be large.
However, something deep inside is telling me how nice it would be to leave Andersson & Hanafin alone, they were an excellent pairing this last year & how large would it be to see Weegar & Tanev together. Those two would be an amazing shutdown pairing.
Zadorov is our beast on the back end & I think either Meloche or Mackay would slide in & fit real well on that bottom pairing. Can Kyllington get us a good young RW? I like him but so would other GM's, especially the 2 year @ 2.5 mill contract.
Would Yzerman consider Kyllington & a pick for Bertuzzi? Slot him in with Backlund & Coleman. Or how about Philly for Konecky or Atkinson?Or to Arizona Kyllington & a 3rd for Crouse? Just wondering if we can keep our top 4 D intact especially for the next few years while we have Lindholm on such a sweet contract. |

Crouse asking for 4mil team offering 2.5, he could be available. |

Honest question, looking at capfriendly, is the window for Calgary the next two years based on the team contracts and such? It feels that way.
What does the prospect pool look like? |

We have some decent prospects in the pipeline, Pelletier, Coronato, Zary, Poirier, Kuznetzov, Wolf, Ruzicka & one that has been around awhile is Phillips.
Our AHL team/Stockton Heat made it to the semi-finals this year of the Calder Cup. So our pipeline isnt baron. What's nice this Schwindt kid we picked up in the trade sounds pretty good & we have an extra 1st rounder coming in 2025 or possible 2026, depending on what Florida does. |

Curious, is a Hanafin for Nylander trade make sense from both sides? I can see Nylander slotting in with Huberdeau & Lindholm or even with Backlund & Coleman if Mangi fits that top line. Either way, a top 6 forward for a 2-3 Dman both have 2 years left & Leafs save 2.0 mill in cap? Seems like a hockey trade to me. |

Well that's good. You can use some to make some additional moves the deadline to take it to another level.
