Hockey Canada announced that it has added defenceman Ethan Del Mastro to its roster ahead of the 2022 World Junior Championship.

The Freelton, Ont., native will replace blueliner Deamon Hunt, who will miss the tournament due to injury.

Fans of other teams that stop by here must think that we are all nuts, then again, they wouldn’t be too far off.

My guess

Rogula, Vlasic, Mitchell are close or soon will be competent NHL dmen. Galvas could be alright but I foresee a tougher road for him to hoe. Too many rookies and his size hold him back. Inevitably injuries will occur so Galvas could be thrust into the NHL lineup

The new head coach may get McCabe straightened out? Murphy will be traded for a 3rd '23 at the trade deadline. KD cannot refuse another selection in '23 and Murphy should add depth for a playoff.contender.

Next wave of kids:Allen is not as close as some people project. He has weaknesses and he has to play a couple years AHL to work on the issues. Allen may always have the same issues but if he can minimize them then he has nice parts of his game

This is a big year for Crevier and DelMaestro to continue developmentally. Along with Kaiser, they look to be the second wave of dmen prospects. Phillips might step up too but we have to see it to believe it. And who knows whether Kaiser wishes to pursue a college degree.

Beaudin is a real longshot. He has to demonstrate how he can be very good while minimizing his size/strength issues..Be good for an entire AHL season then maybe he could eventually get to the NHL, albeit more likely in another organization

Other: I wonder whom C.Caufield winds up with as his primary center. Perhaps the centers in Montreal are not ready to help Caufield score as much as he is capable to produce. Forty goals might be attainable..Hey Darth....What is your thoughts on Caufield production next.season?.Their.defense and C Price goal is not stable like it was previously....so that has to affect Caufield"s opportunities
