KY says he'll slide right in.

All good.

He’s a great player, but he’s 29 years old. Terrible mistake long term.

Like most GMs, Treliving will be long gone and won’t have to worry about it.
There’s talk he may replace Bettman.

- K-man25

Some of us here, might not be around either, so we won't be able to give you a hard time about it.

Jim didn’t sign OEL, he traded the 9th oa pick to get what OEL brings to the team.
Treliving signed a 115 pt player that he traded for. He won’t be around long enough to worry about it. Flames are stuck with that contract much like the Canucks will be stuck with Millers unless he’s traded before he gets extended.

'Git 'er done JR.

Retire a Canuck.

Will be a very nice tribute at Rogers Arena.

If that actually gets it done I’m good with it.

Trade the last couple years to the Quebec Coyotes if need be.

They will be better with Matthews, far from a powerhouse though

It won't really matter by the end of the contract. 40 point guys will be making bank then. VAN should have quite a few of those. Seriously though, Gaudreau was getting that deal in CGY, so the only difference in contracts was one extra year at $5.8M. Instead of Little Johnny, we have Big Jonahan who turns Sam Bennett into a 25 goal guy. Little Johnny will retire a nobody in US hockey unless he makes it to the Olympics. In Calgary he had a chance to break most of the franchise records.

Big Jonathan is a bit brittle and turns 30 when the contract kicks in. Great player, but I’m glad it’s Calgary signing that one.

Thanks Carol! It’s going to be a mistake when the pressure finally mounts and the Canucks sign Millsey for 8 more years (or Horvat for that matter). If you’re going to do an 8 year deal do it with a 23/24 year old.

When I told KY-Man and a few others that JG and MT would be gone what I didn't say is how much better the Flames would be without them long-term. This is an exciting time for the Flames. One more top end talent and you are back in business. Losing Gaudraue and the Turtle was the best thing for that franchise. Now we can cue the Miller whiners here in 3...2...1...
