That’s what Friedman said last week. That he thought they had a deal but it was just on the shelf until they could sort out their cap.

Qualifying for the playoffs would be deemed a success.

They’ll get something for him, which is better than nothing. Someone always steps up with a package that’s palatable.

JT Miller must be excited that Kadri was wanting 9m a season and is settling for 7. Next years free agent class is much better also. A lot of money going to be handed out to better, younger players first.

Any offer for Miller has to compete with the 5-10 mil Aquilini would get for a few home gates in the playoffs, I think that's more important for him than assets for his hockey team, Miller will only get traded if this team is out of a playoff position, I don't think Aquilini has a problem letting Miller walk.

Well really not my issue, that's up to this (frank)ed up management group to figure out, if they can make it work and they think they are happy with what they propose that's on them. If they can't work anything out and Miller goes else where then that is also their call.
This season is set, no wiggle room on the cap unless there are trades or someone goes down with a serious injury.
I like Miller, if he can be retained that would probably mean someone else is on the move.

They're too far apart for a deal, team is happy going into the season with JTM unsigned. Pressure point a month before TDL. Worst case scenario he walks.
