Guys like Kadri aren’t lining up to play for us right now
And there’s frankly not much out there to get excited about anyways - jdfitz77
Nobody said Kadri and I don't want Kadri |

Options for 4C seem to be Girgs, Asplund & Sheahan
Those first 2 names should get a shot at 4C first,
& Sheahan only get a chance as a “last resort” type move - jdfitz77
I think they like the first two more on the wing. Especially Asplund, can play on any line to compensate for the guys who aren't good defensively without curbing their offensive game.
Sheahan's 5v5 play was good, and is much better on the dot than Girgensons. I think unless he has a really bad camp he's probably the 4C. |

I know nobody said him, I did
He’s a center, so it makes sense in light of the convo
Who’s out there that u do want us to sign?
I don’t see much that’s attractive to me at all |

I feel the same way to an extent,
but i think we are forgetting what a good prospect Krebs (at least) was at one point - jdfitz77
Not forgetting that, still hope he keeps developing and growing. Could be the one used in a trade to bring back a needed piece to move this team forward or to the next level. |

Girgs & Asplund have played more on the wings in the past couple seasons bc we had better faceoff guys playing 4C
Girgs played there at the end of last season & looked fine to me
Not great, but passable
Sheahan would be a better 13th forward than Bjork, but that’s about it imo
I don’t hate him, but there’s no one Sheahan is pushing out of the lineup
And he’s nowhere good enough to have a forward slot over Peterka/Quinn |

I think the two-way deal signals Roch. Depth signing that they really needed.

I agree but at this point, sort of resigned to the idea that they'll send Peterka back to the AHL to start. |

Yeah, potentially
Idk if u watched the AHL playoffs last year,
but Krebs & Peterka had some nice chemistry
Krebs can certainly fish the puck to our guys who have the ability to snipe
This could be a make or break year with us for him though
Savoie is gonna be nipping on the heals of his roster spot sooner than later |

For Sheahan to be 4C,
then neither Peterka or Quinn are in our lineup
*unless someone else is pushed out, and i don’t see who that could/should be
Girgs wears an “A”
He’ll be in the lineup |

I think the plan is for him to eventually get beat out by others and then end up in Roch. You could be right though, they brought back almost everyone at F so maybe just first call up. |

That surprises me, JJ to me looks more pro ready than Quinn. Quinn got pushed around in the playoffs, he gets taken off the puck way to easy. |

Hmm yeah maybe. I constantly forget to include Hinostroza as part of the lineup. |

Let’s see your lineup with Sheahan at 4C
I don’t see it happening unless Girgs & Asplund both looks horrible
Skinner-Tage-Olofsson
Mitts-Cozens-Tuch
Hinostroza-Krebs-Peterka/Quinn
Asplund-Girgs-Okposo
Sheahan
Bjork
And if Peterka AND Quinn both look good in camp,
then that 3rd line could have both of them on it an Hinostroza as an extra |

If they really wanted a 4C, I think they would have walked away from Vinny and pursued one, not wait for the bargain bin. Roch C depth had to be addressed.

I think the issue there is, even if you feel there's stuff to work out, it's not going to happen at the AHL anymore.
When you dominate a league the way Quinn did, it's very difficult to make adjustments to your game because frankly you don't have to. The guy's a full step quicker than everyone on the ice there, and his shot will cause 99% of the goalies problems.
You're less likely to work through bad habits when you can succeed in spite of them. Long story short, it's not much of a challenge anymore.

Sure I agree with most, but it wasn't bad habits in the playoffs. He just got physically abused. |

He can probably work on that in the NHL. |

Didn't really look. OG Larry would have fit well.

Not that i liked anyways
Wasn’t much available in free agency for good bottom6 centers
I’d have liked to see better than Sheahan brought in too
But guys don’t wanna come here right now
And i still don’t think the “plan” is to play Sheahan unless we have to |

Larsson was the only one available that I’d have liked back
That just didn’t seem very realistic though with the way his tenure ended here the 1st time |

Sure, but if it came down to Quinn or JJ for the last spot, JJ to me is better equipped to handle it right now. Of course Camp could change that. |

I agree but you're probably right that they didn't want a permanent fixture for 4C. Bit of a logjam as it is. Sheahan gives you depth but also doesn't take ice from anyone.
It wouldn't surprise me at all if they made an offer to Larsson and he just wasn't interested in a role that would likely have him spend more time in the press box than the ice. |
