He hasn't done anything to warrant getting fired up to this point. Tearing down a team is the easy part. This team still finished 25 points out of a playoff spot with a negative 50+ goal differential, and they needed a likely unsustainable run in the last two months of the season to even get to that point. If that part doesn't improve, there are definitely openings for Terry Pegula to sour quickly, given what we know about him.

Winning the eichel trade was not the "easy part".

It's never easy winning trades, or deciding who to keep and who to trade.

Looks like he kept the right guy in okposo with his 1st sabres 20 goal season .

Same for skinner bouncing back to 30+ goals.

You're not giving KA any credit.

Both you and lunaion are tough on KA . I'm not getting the underappreciateness?

Deflect and blame Ralph.

You can honestly sit in your analytics cave and not blame Ralph? He was equally "in charge ".

Things have gotten dramatically better.

I don't blame Ralph for the GM side of things.

Which is ironic given the constant clamoring for a President of Hockey Ops.

You all should read up on how guys like Brian Burke and Mike Gillis define the role and benefits.
Maybe check out what Joe Sakic plans to do while also seeing how Can Neely executes his responsibilities.

If course, one could ask Kimmie, she knows a bit more than the fab base after all.

Won’t know that for a few years. Mostly hinges on what Krebs becomes, and as much as I love the prospect, he has to show it at the NHL level pretty soon.

Ostlund with a hatty today in preseason action in the SHL.

Kulich plays at 2 P.M, scored in their first game but was credited with an assist.

He's also got significantly more help. Granted, he went out and found that help, which counts for something. However, it really feels like the team makes decisions as a collective rather than KA doing his own thing.
- Michael Ghofrani

Yip. They boast about it, and the should absolutely do so. IMO a far more effective way to manage. He has final decision rights, so the buck stops with him.
I'm very happy this is their style and "process". In fact, in this age I would be very shocked/alarmed if they managed other way.

There are still plenty of teams with a much stiffer hierarchy than the Buffalo Sabres. In my opinion, I like how they do things now. I've always felt that it was important to listen more than speak. Knowing you're not the smartest guy in the room will get you much farther.

You really feel like KA was 100% in charge of player personal?

They've been grooming KA slowly for years.

Ralph got trailor hall , among others

Seems like it would be very difficult to improve production, metrics and standings when in the year down phase of a complete rebuild versus a retooling on the fly, no?

He's now in the build back better phase (JC I hope he does fvck it up like Brandon is doing rather superbly), taking a deliberate, methodical approach building through the draft and evaluating young players to best determine their projected spot and likely production.
He has been transparent in his plans and has executed against his plan rather effectively.

Fans impatience is not a reason to once again jettison the plan in mid-flight.

Trust the process, relax and enjoy the entertainment.

There is no question we are winning the eichel trade currently.

Vegas was a cup champion favorite and missed the playoffs with eichel. Giving us an even better prospect

Sabres were picked to be a bottom 3 team, traded eichel and moved to the 9th pick

I agree though, this trade will take years to really see the result, but for now it's a win

Took me about 10 minutes to really like the guy after he was picked. Excited to watch this crop develop. Disappointed Savoie can't/isn't participating.

I am pretty sure that GMKA knows if he intends to sign after his senior year. I suppose we will all know if he gets traded in a package for another asset.

At this point I would be leaning the way of he taint signing with the Sabres.

it's frustrating that the 3 prospects we needed to sign, none of them did this summer

We would get a pick at the end of the 2nd rnd if he's not traded because he was a 1st
