Well it wasn’t my generation who was responsible for shipping jobs overseas
And u older guys just sounds ridiculous when you (not you specifically, but your generation) complain about burger flippers making $15/hr and meanwhile say NOTHING about the $700 billion bailout for the banks, or $80 billion bailout for the auto industry, or $50 billion for the airlines, or $3 trillion- that’s Trillion with a T- FED bailout for the stock market,
and on & on & on…..

But… But… But…
Johnny makes too much flipping burgers is the problem
And it’s “socialism” to help the 99%
But Capitalism to help the 1%

Let’s get real here
The “little guy” making a little more $$$ is FAR from what’s wrong with our economy

So all those new Tech Company that have come about over the last 20yrs that buy there materials from overseas haven't taken a chunk from Manufacturing. It's cheaper for Bigger Companies to buy stuff overseas because it cost to much to hire a employee to make it. Jesus my Company would buy material from China and India have it brought here knowing it didn't meet specifications and have are Machine Shop rework it and it was still cheaper than having the parts made here or Canada. From a supposed Part time job to a Machiniist is affected by wage standards. Every Generation affects the other or next.

True
But this is what (literally) decades of damage to the middle class has brought us to

The rich keep getting richer….

Tax the Rich (for real)

Stop the bailouts

Institute policies that make manufacturing in America cost effective again

How do you propose to do this?
It is a global economy, we are competing with $0.50/he child labor in 3rd world countries and what, $5.00 an hour in 2nd world's?

People here aren't accepting g $13/14 anymore.

Like it or not, Unions also played a major role in this outsourcing of jobs offshore, by absolutely refusing (in most cases) to to reduce wages and benefits reasonably. They forced companies to seek alternatives including offshoring and later on automation when it was a viable alternative to remain "competitive" to 3rd world companies.

Decades of greed & corruption aren’t exactly easy to undo
Especially with corporations allowed to (basically) “legally bribe” our politicians

Huh? Have you seen Congress? The average age is 58; and 64 in the Senate. The last two presidents in their 70s.

The average age of CEOs for Fortune 500s is 57.

How, everything would be affected from farming to Computers. So are you going to tell a Machinist they will be going back to 20hr instead of the 35hr you are paid know. And to tell you the truth, not many young people will stick in a Manufacturing environment. Worked for my Company for a long time and can't remember how many 18-22yr old's I saw walk out or not come back because they thought they deserved more than was being paid.

Heavy industry isn't coming back in all likelihood (at least in a major way). It's cheaper to operate in less developed countries where not only is the labor cheaper, the environmental and safety oversight is non-existent in many places. Shipping costs are the only way that the scale gets tipped back to America, and that's where you'll see corporations dump money into alternative fuel sources in order to keep costs down.

It's cheap to make steel in America when you can dump slag into the lake and use it as urban fill. Those days aren't coming back (hopefully)

That's why you see so many US Companies opening or buying Companies overseas. They make the sh!t over there with crappy materials cause there isn't any regulations and ship it here and slap a Made in the USA sticker on it, and make a 50% profit on it.

True, that's why a lot of Companies go to Canada or China for there steel. But it's what price you want to pay, and how shady material wise you are willing to go.

You might hate this. But part of what trump was doing was geared toward that in what he was doing with Mexico and China

About the only way I see real change is if somehow we get a coordinated effort out into getting politicians that will actually create legislation that 95% of Americans want — term limits, remove lobbyists from politics and create single term bills instead of all the poop they jam into one bill and then call it some BS name like inflation reduction act.

One of the very few things that i liked from that clown
He hypocritically had his clothes being made in Mexico & overseas though

And for the record,
I’m not against Republican Economic Policies necessarily
I’m just very anti-trump bc he’s a sh!tty human

And although I’m fairly liberal when it comes to social issues, I’m not at all a democrat either

I just won’t ever side with the group who (generally) discriminates against friends & family that i care about

People matter more than Politics, and it’s not close

Fitz wants MMACE not MAGA! How could you bring up Trump!

He wants to specifically make manufacturing in America great again, nothing else!

Strictly manufacturing, Indiana! Not America!!

🥱

Also 🤝 on most of your last post in response to mine. I tend to more want small government that minimally deals with social issues and more deals with fiscal issues. But I get where you are coming from.

That's why I was a registered libertarian at 17 years old. Unfortunately... this is the reality of the libertarian party:

NYS no longer views them as a legitimate party and now I guess I'm a registered nothing. It's probably all for the best
