That's why I was a registered libertarian at 17 years old. Unfortunately... this is the reality of the libertarian party:

NYS no longer views them as a party and now I guess I'm a registered nothing. It's probably all for the best - Hank Balling
I have voted libertarian a few times. Although it’s typically a wasted vote. |

I voted for *I believe* Bob Barr in 2008 mostly because I was an edgelord teenager.
Still, George Washington nailed our current state of affairs 225 years ago when he told us that the two party system is an awful idea:
The two-party system "serves always to distract the public councils and enfeeble the public administration. It agitates the community with ill-founded jealousies and false alarms, kindles the animosity of one part against another, foments occasionally riot and insurrection.”
The guy was more accurate than Nostradamus |

It’s amazing how insightful and intelligent the founders were. They had no knowledge of where the country would go but if things stayed the way they had set up we would be better off today. However crony capitalism and greed is all over the government. And how do you now vote someone out of that. They won’t give it up |

I have no idea how to fix any of these systematic problems. I'm an idiot on the internet who should probably stick to talking about the NHL team that has finished outside the playoffs for a record 11-seasons straight.
That's the NHL in August for you, though
¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Capitalism fails when the dream of climbing the ladder is no longer realistic
There's no going back to the golden age the boomers had. They scooped everything up and abused the free market to make it unwinnable for the generations after them. Its not their fault, they just won the game.
The only way to prevent total collapse is to start giving people free stuff. Which probably ends in total collapse anyways, just prolongs it for a couple generations. - robz228
Decades of low interests rates is what caused this, it caused speculation in real assets and devaluation in fiat currency.
Russia is weaponizing energy, China is weaponizing supply chains, and the U.S. is weaponizing the dollar.
You want to stop inflation? Raise interest rates 3% come the next September Fed meeting. The only way out of this is pain, might as well get it over with now.
In reality, they will probably raise a couple more times and start cutting rates early 2023 and then we’ll really see hyperinflation.
We’ve reached a point of no return. |

Go ahead and apply modern day “norms” to men who lived in the 1700s, as foolish as it is to do so.
They were pretty enlightened for the era they lived in. Slavery was a world wide problem, and had been practiced pretty much since the dawn of man. Women were always undervalued as to the contributions to society that they could make.
The country that the “in many ways poopty ppl” founded was a leader in eventually changing both. |

Huh? Have you seen Congress? The average age is 58; and 64 in the Senate. The last two presidents in their 70s.
The average age of CEOs for Fortune 500s is 57. - Wetbandit1[/quote

While this is all true, even those two issues weren't exactly morally motivated either.
A great number of abolitionists, including Abraham Lincoln at least at one point, wanted the slaves all shipped back to Africa.
Women's suffrage finally got momentum when certain political players figured out there was an untapped population of voters that could potentially change elections in their own favor. |
