I'm the other new guy in the 89 hockey league.

Seems you may have a better chance with kuchorov, leon and hedman.

I have kriprisof, paslewski and lehner as my top 3.

I think they may have an expansion draft so I have a chance to compete .

Of course you can't go there.

That would be admitting KA did a fine job of managing generally.

I'm surprised you still like watching the Sabres games or even paying attention?

This should be a very fun year with good young talent thru out the lineup.

My bar is a lot higher than yours.

Still hoping for GM Ventura before next off-season.

he provided the necessary push back to physical opponents trying to "run" the young Sabres.
He provides decent value as a #8 behind Bryson and Pilot.
Case closed.

- IonSabres

I agree, and he did help. I think he will be here unless Pilut beats out Bryson.

I'm guessing your bar is a lot higher in real life too pal 😀

Love the analytics vs. Meathead that watches most of the home games live debate.

Refreshing in august and mid season.

If KA manages generally and hires ace Ventura, does he get any credit?

I would've tried damn hard to bring in two real NHL goaltenders who are not 40+ and an injury waiting to happen.

They very well may have tried that, although I'm dubious on that with how much they seem to be pinning their hopes on Levi.

Anderson feels like a hedge bet and nothing more.

A free ride on the vibes train, and if he sustains a season ending injury early on, oh well, no big deal.

Murray and Gibson are the talk, both said no. I don't know if that actually happened, much like you don't. Either way, Anderson really looks like he was the fall back option, and I'm ok with it. I want better too, usually great goalies are homegrown (not always, but most of the time/given up on too early). We'll see where things fall, my original point was I don't think he was nearly as bad last year as some make him out to be. Which depending on how you view goalies, he was way more peaks and valleys then steady eddy, so if that's not your thing, then yeah, he was probably frustrating. I had low expectations for last season, so it was easy to turn it off and move on with my night when bad Andy showed up.

Well spoken and bad Andy 😀😀😀

These guys hopefully look around the lockerroom in October and start where they left off last season.

I don't think there will be an expansion draft, the waiver wire is open for you to pick up better players, you don't have to keep any of the players that are on your team if you don't want to.

Is it going to be as easy for you this season to turn the game off and move on when Anderson has a bad night?

At some point, expectations should rise, I would think.

There is a saying in sports that goes like this: You are your results.

Good goaltenders are more consistent and steady then Anderson displayed last season.

He performed like a bad goaltender. Some really good games, some really bad games.

You don't want to flip a quarter to understand what kind of goaltending performance you're going to receive on a nightly basis.

then you would be exposing pilut or fitzgerald to waivers to keep a 41 year old locker room guy on the roster

Casey Fitzgerald isn’t an nhl player. I highly doubt anyone would pick him up.

Sure, I got 3 kids. If it's a clunker game and Buffalo is playing like a SC contender in 3 years with Levi as one of the best goalies in the league in 3 years, I can still turn it off.

Craig Anderson: 31 GP 17 Ws, 12 Ls, 2OTs, .897%(53rd), 3.12 GAA(47th). There are the final results, as brought to you by Anderson himself. He's not a starter (nor did I say he was). Low end backup, and I hope that Comrie or UPL take the reigns as a legit starter and the other is a solid backup. If Anderson needs to play every now and again, I'll live.

The Sabres won more games after march in spite of Anderson not because of him. I did this before but I think AARP GAA was over 3 but the Team was scoring close to 4 on average. You can win a lot of games averaging close to 4 a game

I take some of this back, we average 3.17 goals per game.. AARP made some saves when he needed to, but my point is he is not the answer.

I mean you're making the assumption that Anderson is the starter. I'm just not. They could have run it back with the same 4/5 guys as last year, but they added Comrie, who could be a really good goalie, based upon last year in WPG. He also might not be.

You can't force guys to come. Here's the thing, and honest question. Gibson reportedly said no. Murray reportedly said no. Portillo reportedly said not yet at least. It's like people are acting like he didn't try to upgrade from last year. With that being said, I'm not worried unless Anderson gets 30+ starts again. In which case, well here's another development type year.

From March on (Sabres wins and Anderson in net only)

Anderson GA(S%): @TOR .967(1), MIN .879(4), VGS .968(1), TOR .944(2), @VAN .938(2), PIT .885(3), NSH .880(3), CAR .941(2), @TOR .923(2), PHI .857(3), NJD .935(2)

I see MIN. PIT, NSH, and PHI aren't great, but he gave up 3 against in the 3 games. 7 games of .923 or higher out of 11.

Yeah, totally except no.
