"Not sure how a guy with a Hart trophy, 4 straight seasons of 100+ point pace (behind only McD in PPG) and 93 points in his last 71 playoff games isn't a superstar.
- AdamFrench"
Not to mention 2 - 50goal seasons and would have 4 if it wasn't for covid.
Nate has never had a 100pts or 50goals.
AM34 has 1 - 50goal season and 1 - 100pts season - ifiwasgm

He also has a pretty solid teammate... that is the reason Drai doesn't make the list either...
My list is guys who singlehandedly can tilt series and or flat out take them...

When McDavid went down with injury in 2020, Draisaitl dominated in McDavids absence, playing with 2 nobodies.
Draisaitl is unfairly devalued because McDavid is on the same team. |

How can you include Makar and Shesterkin when they're the only ones you didn't list a nickname for? Seems to be a staple for superstars (The Great One, Super Mario, Sid the Kid, The Great 8, etc.). Until that changes, your list is bogus and I am unsubscribing from your newsletter. - jmatchett383
For Makar we tried Spiderman but that hasn't caught on even though he sort of skates like you imagine Spidey would and looks like him off the ice. Nic Aube-Kubel called him "Bobby" - that might stick.

Robert Reichel was great with Ziggy Palffy for the Isles.
Eberle is still a good player…just didn’t have much luck on his team’s choices. |

Sounds like Malkin when Crosby goes down. A stud. History repeating itself. |

What about the great Michal Jordan?
3 points in 18 games at the World Jrs, but was a basketball player in his previous sport where he also had an E in his first name. |

Well the simple answer is that a star player can dominate a tournament any given year and look super. But to be super playing the best of the decade before and after him is rare. So yeah many can be stars in the NHL but few get to be super stars. |

WTF is that list.
Total points over the last 4 years in the NHL.
https://www.quanthockey.c...easons-players-stats.html
McGeez,
DraiDrai
Kaner
Hubi
MacK
Even Marchand has more points compared to Matthews. Now add to that list Makar, Crosby, Ovechkin, Kucherov, Shesterkin and that list is closed.
The definition of a superstar is one of a game changer. A player that could change a game by himself. Everyone on that list fits that category. Now of course the order could be different.
1- McGeez,
2- Makar
3- DraiDrai
4- Matthews
5- Shesterkin
6- MacK
7- Kucherov
8- Crosby
9- Kane
10- Marchand
11- Ovechkin
12 - Huberdeau
And quite frankly, I'm pretty sure I'm biased with Crosby and Ovechkin so that could be 2 less players. |

You easterners oblivious to what Draisaitl did in the 2nd & 3rd round?
While playing on one leg? 6pts in the 3rd round in 4game, barely able to skate |
