If you really go into the archives 2013 and before you can find some good trades - Hawkeynation
All true, but DeBrincat was traded for a 1st round pick (who will likely be a bust) and not much else. KD turned Stan’s sole W and promptly turned it into an L. |

I agree his time came due and have said as much but the part about his “fan club” not holding him accountable doesn’t really hold water.
You’re welcome to your opinion even though you’ll likely blast me for mine because I have the audacity to give Stanbo credit for at least two of the three Cups.
As long as you keep complaining about people complaining about people who complain about the Hawks, all will be right in Hawkeytown. - HawkintheD
What are you talking about? Obviously Blowman did nothing at all except (frank) the Hawks over. There isn’t one positive thing Blowman did for the Hawks, nothing! |

How soon we forget. The year is 2020, COVID running rampant. Half the Chicago front office is laid off. No paying bodies will be in the stands in a makeshift NHL schedule. Stan announces the team will get "younger" obviously a cost cutting move from above. He never uses the word rebuild. Fast forward 2021 things closer to normal, Stan goes "all in," likely also from above flexing Blackhawks $ muscle. I highly doubt Stan did anything in a vacuum. |

Seth Jones L
Saad for Zadarov L Left Colorado as a free agent, would of done the same thing in Chicago
Anisimov for Smith L Anisimov out of the league about the same time as Smith
Jokiharju for Nylander L
3 picks for Shaw L do any of the picks have any chance of making the NHL
Forsberg for DeHaan L Carolina had him buried in the minors even with all their goaltending problems. Took over in Ottawa by default. Will be sitting on the pine again as they traded for Talbot?
Kahun for Maata L Kahun out of the league after Pitsburgh gave up on him in one year and Edmonton the next.
Schmaltz for Strome and Perlini L Would you have given Schmautz 7 years at $5.85 million. His production is really no better than Strome's was with the Hawks. Better skater for sure but not much else. Perlini was flipped for Regula.
Hartman for Edjsell, Beaudin and Kurashev L Hartman finally has a brekout year 5 years after the Hawks trade him, and Nashville and Philadelphia gave up on him. Maybe lets give Kurashev 3 more years to develop?
Panarin for Saad L
Hjalmarsson for Murphy L Hjarmelsson retired, had one healthy season, not close to the defenseman in his prime.
Shaw for a pick that turned into DeBrincat W!!!!
Lets keep going
Teuvo to get rid of Bickell L
Danault for Fleishman and Weise L

So yes, on the whole, Stan is batting less than 50%, but to say all the above trades were total losses, I don't agree with.
If you are going to mention Panarin as a loss, how about the fact the Hawks signed him as a FA in the first place?

Isn't it unfair to compare S. Jones with Seabrook unless or until he had a HOF defenseman as his partner? You are right S. Jones is no Seabrook, but Seabrook would not be Seabrook without Keith. - LAHawk
Keith would not be Keith without Seabrook!

Half those trades were arguably "ties" which is what a trade is supposed to be. Jokiharju is a 7th on a good team. The Murphy trade was a win not a loss... |

I’m not sure the Hawks win the second cup without Seabrook. |

Keith, Seabrook, Hossa, Kane and Toews were all required components to winning multiple Cups. Remove any one of them and the subsequent championships are in doubt, especially 2015.
Question - which was the better defensive pairing: Chelios & Suter or Keith & Seabrook? |

Kevin Weekes is reporting that he expects the Islanders to announce at least 4 transactions soon (no definitive timeline provided). Will one of those moves be Kane to Long Island to play with Barzal???? |

I agree 100% but I meant more in that display of leadership that righted the ship.
As always it’s hard to compare different eras. Based strictly on results I’d have to go with Keith and Seabrook although like you said there were so many other components Chelios and Suter didn’t have. |

Carney & Weinrich vs. Hjalmarsson & Oduya - clear win for Hammer and Oduya
Belfour vs. Crawford - Belfour

I figured that but wasn't sure. Hard to keep up with all the red fonters.

If KD gets involved in that action he needs to make sure the Hawks get Raty included in any deal with the Islanders. Otherwise the Hawks should just walk away. |

Doubt if there is a Kane trade now. Maybe Kadri Dobson and Romanov sign and Bailey and/or Pageau traded for the needed cap space. |

First it was the Moose, then it was the Chairman of the Boards Doug Jarrett.
