.but again do any NHL kids on the roster have a chance of STILL being HERE in 5-6 years when this team is back in contention? No idea. So should I lose my mind if Reichel busts out? Just another hole that has to be filled.

I have given up hope of Murphy or McCabe being dealt as I read an article from Powers that makes sense on how they need both to fill a position and eat minutes, so the kids don't lose confidence and kill their development. SO, I'll stomach watching captain America of the JV world squad run around and blow himself up and be on the IR .

No doubt the roster is terribly short on talent but after the draft the pipeline shows some promise with the 2023 draft having a big chance of expanding that exponentially. .... I do think the pipeline today has maybe 2-3-4 Dmen that can be with the club in 5 yrs. Vlasic, Regula, Allen and Phillips too look like legit chances to be part of that group and of course Korchinski is their golden boy who will be given every chance of being a difference maker. The former mentioned may not be difference makers but a Vlasic or Allen has a chance to be legit shutdown players in a top pairing and the others legit NHL Dmen.

Do you, or others, who think Murphy or McCabe are of little use think maybe we should dismiss anything they, or anyone else, showed under Colliton gets a pass? Colliton showed he's not an NHL coach and as a result most of what we've seen from the players can be looked at in that context?

We saw a clown show in their own end under Colliton for yrs and I'm willing to give everyone a new look under what I hope is NHL level coaching under Richardson. McCabe and Murphy in particular.

I really believe that Stan was very average and may not have even got the position without being Scott's son. No question the moves he made hurt the Hawks more than improving and helping the Hawks

I hope youre right on prospects...I was more so pointing to guys getting a shot this year...odds are if they do well they could be flipped again like Hagel for more picks in a year or two...if the hawks have players behind them that are "close" and none of them become a top 3/6 f OR a top pair on the back end.

Fair point on veterans under JC....I just think Murphy is dumb at hockey. Period. He's a meathead who acts tough and gets his @ss handed to him when goes full board. I hope they do well and some prospects hit and minimize growing pains so the Hawks can flip one and/or both.

I think his biggest fault was failing at giving away 3 components on deals....term, AAV, and NMC/NTC

I also think he paid based on past performance and identified too large of a core. You looks at teams who have had a longer run of being relevant and their core is/was half the size of the Hawks. Was that due to the Hawks inability to develop the next wave of players? I think its all fair to point out.

I do think he was very good at always "going for it" when the window was open....I recall this board MELTING down because a clown like Lazerus thought marko Dano was great and the hawks sold HIGH on him and got Ladd....

lastly, I think it's very fair to wrap Q into whatever praise and bashing Bowman gets because I am sure Bowman ran some things by his coach to see if he could do without this guy or that guy.....

I did find it humorous that Foley went out of his way never to praise Bowman during his speech on the ice OR in the broadcast booth with Uncle Dale....just a weird vibe there. Was he ordered to by management and use STan as a scape goat? No clue........just very weird.

Every time I drive down 355 heading south and see that water tower of Elk Grove Village I think of the 1 guy who should be blasted and somehow has vanished without saying a word......McEgo. F that guy. I was never right about a lot of things on this board and the DH board, but I was right about that cancer McDonough.

Back that up, Paul.

Wiz doesn't not equal conspiracy theories. Did not do it for JFK (Sherman Skullnik the same guy) or hockey or today's US reality

I have never thought
a) the Crosby draft as much as old man Wirtz was disappointed, it was not a fix...b/c the old man had more pull than even that Pittsburgh ownership, it would have been fixed towards Chicago.
b) I have never thought the draft was anything but luck after the Oilers saw no draft rules changed after being allowed to
Taylor Hall
Ryan Nugent-Hopkins
Nail Yakupov
all first over-all and then only THREE years later were allowed to pick McDavid first over-all.

But it was L U C K.

Where were the GM's after the second time Nugent-Hopkins, with weren't they saying there should be a rule about the same team going first more than twice in five years.

Talkathon shows the odds as Draft ! 25.5, Draft 2 18.8, Draft 3 55.7 but the average spot is 2.3 (2nd)

After Washington got the #1 Russian so late this year (but clearly not Matvei Michkov and is fighting cancer),
I bet Fantilli lace goes at slot two.

And my high respect for Russian knee surgeons and the fact that you wait until Michkov's contract with Ska st. Pete is up, you have to wonder what the new GM does...in one way he is afforded the luxury of late arrival since the team would still be in transition and the superstar they get cannot be Mose's w/o his people around him.
BUT.....I also see how the quicker / better player gets in here, the quicker the fans come back.

I dunno what I do at #3 SLOT
I LIKE BENSON AND YAGER maybe a bit too much, can Marian Hossa go play pond hockey with Eduard Šalé and let me if he fits as our new go impact scorer?

All this and I still am wondering about what "divine conspiracy theories" I am promoting.

I am not asking anyone to subscribe to my not mentioning a superstitious kid's name.
I said I am, b/c I simply cannot get the speed, accuracy of "his" 40 foot shot, and the way the guy can over flex the stick to get off such power accuracy and hate behind it.
I haven't seen this before ever, and I want it badly to be in Chicago.

You mean you believe that Lee Harvey shot JFK all by himself, had that magic bullet, and planned the whole thing on his own

And F every media both sports and investigative who reported the story around the clock and never once parked on his doorstep to make him answer.

They are all complicit and scum in my book.

According to his Mom, via Twitter, Caleb Jones has signed a 1 year deal.

My guess is that the Hawks will announce the C Jones and Kurashev deals simultaneously soon.

Slaggert with a good game for team USA at the WJHC. Through 2 periods he has a goal and primary assist.

The Blackhawks are pursuing Patrick Sharp to be their new TV analyst (Olczyk's replacement). If Sharp turns the position down, Troy Murray could figure prominently in the team’s plans.

Overall they’re pretty good (besides the timing, of course). I would have expected more for Kurashev and less for Jones.

We have such a plethora at Forward no room for Connolly and Borgstrom Kurashev will struggle to make the team.

Both are RFA's after next season with C. Jones arb eligible.

Coincidentally Jones contract amount is the same as Stillman's. Kurashev took a pay cut as Entwistle, Hardman and R. Johnson did on their 2nd contracts.

IMO, both are just place fillers for a year or two as the roster continues to evolve over the next few years.
