Personally never have been this down on a season. They are stuck in neutral ( I am being kind). They are not taking any path to get themselves out of neutral. This is a boring and bland team. Not much to look forward to in terms of potential star players for the future. They have vets who are solid but not game changers. Younger vets who fit the same solid not game changing profile.

What I want to see:

1. Can York be a legit top 4 guy going forward.
2. Frost being 100% healthy and playing every game. Then he needs to show improved play. Need to determine what his role is going forward.
3. Same as Frost though he doesn't have the injury issues.
4. Does Sanheim and Provorov have another gear that the coaches can tap into?
5. I have no expectation for Hart. Really do not have an opinion on him as he is just the default goalie at this time.

6. Will Allison, Tanner, and the like get a real opportunity to secure a roster spot? If they do and cant beat out ZM and/or Brown then that is not good. I myself do not think they will given a fair shot.

The prospect pool has some solid players it seems. None who project to be stars or even top line players.

No trust or faith in this management team to even remotely turn it around. It will be bleak for the foreseeable future.

We all love the torture...kinda why we are here in summertime discussing the Titanic.
We will be more like rubberneckers watching a 6 car pile up shift after shift.
Then we will bloviate on the minutia of those shifts and the common thread
will be:
Chuck blows and he and all of the ownership and management have set this franchise back a long long way.

4) Flyers 2020 first-round pick, who is playing on Team Canada at the rescheduled WJC after missing the original tourney due to shoulder surgery last November, is Jason Myrtetus' guest for Wednesday's edition of Flyers Daily. Foerster discussed his development path, especially in terms of working to improve his skating. He also talked about the shoulder injury from last season and his rehab process. Foerster had to play catch-up once he finally returned to play last season and still was not quite at 100 percent effectiveness. He feels fine now after an intensive summer workout program. To listen to the 11-minute conversation, click here.

Wow! A Flyers prospect "working hard to improve skating" and is involved in an "intense summer workout program."
How refreshing to see a young man dedicating an entire summer locally to improve his skill and conditioning.
When he steps on ice at camp, he deserves a warm welcome from media/fanbase, and not a frosty one.
Speaking thereof....

My post doesn't seem coherent yet you reply along the same lines. Your lack of comprehension does not make my simple post incoherent. Can't make it up.

What don’t you understand here, last year is irrelevant. The kid went on an interview and gave an answer to his off season that wasn’t in line with someone that is still a fringe NHL player. Or any player for that matter. It’s just an answer during an interview and I would hope he just didn’t dive into his off season workouts thoroughly but his answer should bother a fan a little. We will see at the start of the season but it would have been nice to hear the kid is hungry.

No, it's not irrelevant. It's direct evidence that the kid worked hard and came into camp stronger and bigger. We also have other comments from sources who are actually around the kid such as the coaches on the work that Frost has put in. Yet some want to speculate that he's not working and training hard based on what was said or wasn't said in an interview. It's asinine.

NO DOUBT they are!

Some dip

- Glak18[poop] is sitting there thinking "we are that team that was the best team in the NHL and beat Tampa...but the covid and injuries set us back. We will be right there again if not for our "bad luck" again."

That would be dumb considering there has been an over 50% roster turnover since 2020 including key players like Giroux.

Passing on Raty to draft Tuomaala in the 2nd is shaping up to be another drafting mistake by the Flyers. Raty already had the size and the tools to be an NHL player. He was even considered to be 1st overall earl in his draft season. Instead the Flyers draft a project who still looks like he’s 15 yrs old.

I am not certain why anyone wants to suppose this other than just being prone to assume a negative outlook. As far as I know, they haven’t had training camp—no weigh-in, testing, nor has there been on ice viewing. It will never rain mentality.

I am not asserting that his workout efforts were insufficient because I dont know that.
I am saying that I would have preferred more attention to that strength/conditioning issue in the interview. For 2 years I have expressed concerns about that online.
He also expressed sentiment about his NHL worthiness. Great that he has confidence but he hasn't proven that yet either. Not to me at least.
So the interview didn't hit the right notes for me.
And as you wrote on the last post from yesterday blog, let the numbers speak for his preparation and worthiness.
I am rooting for him not writing him off like many.
Will will address his performance as the season progresses I am sure.

The entire premise is asinine and ridiculous. Some players are aloof. Some will give details. It means absolutely nothing. I view it as a positive that he views himself as an NHL player. I want a confident player who believes in himself.
