Well Habs are in rebuild mode and getting rid of the many bad contracts we have left.

Just by the end of the year, we'll have Drouin, Dadonov, Byron and Allen off the books. That's over 15M in cap space to spend on the future like Caufield. So despite the albatross of the Price contract, they'll be fine when they're ready to win again.

Leafs are targeted as being in "cap hell" because they keep moves intending to make them finally cross the first round with whatever wiggle room they have left because they have 3 players paid over 10M. They also had to get rid of good/decent players just because they couldn't afford giving them slight raises (like Brown, Kapanen, Johansson).

And it's just fun to SLAF at the Leafs from time to time.
