Speaking of which... any update on Ciniplex Rodion?
- Tee-Dot

I read something a week or so ago, that he's working out and keeping at hockey activities. But I think he's still going through it. Not positive, though.

Leafs extended his loan to the NHL team which suggests there is some hope he plays this year.

Fantastic goal, that 4th one. Ottawa's Greig.

I think Grieg is the prize that Arizona wants in the deal for Chychrun. So far Ottawa has been saying no.

It's like he's a professional chance maker. All he does is create chances every shift.

He's gonna be stupid good. Need a team I don't hate out West to draft him.

- GreatGigInTheSky

Im hoping the leafs are really really bad this year and get him.

Relax Kool aid drinkers....it wont happen.

You are a lucky man.

14 years ago, my father-in-law was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer just after the August 1st weekend.

He died just before Canadian Thanksgiving.

Good to hear.
My mom had pancreatic cancer, after 2 years of treatment she was able to beat it.
However, 2 weeks after beating the pancreatic cancer and 1 week before her celebratory party she was told she now had cancer in her brain and spinal cord (that they somehow missed) 3 months later she passed.

I wish him all the luck in the world. " You have Cancer " is terrible to hear for sure, but it can be beaten. I am 2 years clean of cancer now.

I wish him all the best.

If the Leafs do not make it past the first round again this year. Would you call for significant changes? I am inspired by a few of the comments earlier and ask if anyone would be open to a blockbuster.

Auston Matthews to Arizona for #1 2023 (Conor Bedard guarantee)

as fun as that would be the NHL is not the NBA where stuff like that happens.

Connor Bedard is a great player. He is also 5'9 and 180lbs. That may change a little over the next few years, but I can't imagine that it would significant enough to allow him to battle in the corners in the NHL with the same effectiveness he employs today with teenaged peers. Even watching yesterday against Latvia, he was pushed off the puck a few times by guys who would never be close to the AHL let alone the NHL.

Matthews is a known commodity who may arguably be the #2 player in the league, but is certainly a top-5 player. I wouldn't be trading Matthews unless he made it known he doesn't want to continue his career here.

When my doctor told me I was very quite and didn't say anything. He said did you hear me ? .... I said, FFS Peter, you just told me I have cancer, give me a (frank)in minute to gather my thoughts. He looked down and said " I understand "

Depending on the type of cancer you may or may not have options. Terrible illness that took my father at 62. He was the longest living kidney cancer patient they know of in Canada. Was given 3 weeks, lived 4 yrs 7 months and 2 days.

He passed in 95 on Aug 2nd and I still miss him everyday.

I don't think I would do the deal. But, it is a fun question. Part of the attraction in doing this kind of deal (Matthews for Bedard) would come from the opportunity to reset the financial model.

Use your head, trade the current Hart winner for a draft pick... Seriously...
