The Isles were never really in the running. He and his girlfriend wanted to go to NYC. |

"Let's wait and see if we stink or not" is not exactly the kind of plan that inspires hope among fans - eichiefs9
Especially coming from someone who has said that last season was an anomaly and we are really contenders ad nauseam on this thread since the end of last season |

True.
Same can said of Gaudreau.
Man… NHL spouses really like cockblocking the Isles. |

How does playing for the islanders remove someone from going to NYC? |

This thread will never run out of them. The usual fanboys will always find unsubstantiated excuses. |

Seriously? They wanted to live in NYC. His girlfriend is a model. |

Yes, and they did not want to pay the TAXES on the LIRR tickets. |

What would stop them from living in Manhattan if he played for the islanders? Couldn’t afford his monthly parking bill? |

I'd say it all depends on Lambert. I still view firing our HOF coach (Trotz, not Tonelli) as a monumental mistake. Hopefully I'm wrong, Lambert gives us a more modern spin on what Trotz started, and the team doesn't miss a step. But...I can't help but feel that's the same thing Washington was betting on with Reirden. |

They didn’t have a choice. Lou fired trotz because trotz wanted to be close to his family and Ledecky wanted to make sure he paid him the remainder of his contract. Four million dollars as a parting gift. |

Of course not. The fans know what to do and Lou hasn’t a clue - nyisles7
I mean he openly admitted that he needed to add some offensive talent and didn't.
That's kinda hard to walk back after acquiring nothing...no? |

Maybe all the leaks caused Lou to tear up the contract?

This I agree with completely. We beat Tampa with Panarin without a doubt. |

Where do you think Panarin would have lined up with Komarov on the first line? |

Nothing.
The plan is and has been the same. Nothing. Run back the same team as last year (without Chara - Isleshockeyman[maybe] and Greene) because last year was an anomaly. To some degree I'm ok with that. I'd still like to see them get a true sniper. We'll see what happens.
Plan A through Z was Guadreau. |
