Yea.
Ok, would this work on both sides?
Beauvillier and Varly for Marchessault and a mid round pick? - brodydog29
It's far from a bad thought, in my opinion, but I don't know if the money would work.
Even given Vegas' penchant for trading away anyone with no regard, I'm not so sure they'd give up Marchessault for that package
But they're currently over the cap by almost $5.8M, so adding a net increase of $5M probably wouldn't work for them...even with being able to LTIR Lehner |

Not 100% certain, but me thinks that deal wouldn’t fit under Vegas’s cap. - Wildschwein
I wouldn't do that if I was the Isles |

I’d be asking for their 1st in 2023. And Vegas might just be dumb enough to do it. |

Who knows, that'd be a big risk given the kind of talent available in next year's draft. I think teams will be really hesitant to give up their '23 1st rounders. Even stupid Vegas |

Quite true.
That said, I wouldn’t give him to them for any less. |

My guess is that we see a lot of top-5 (or top-2) protected deals, if a first rounder is included. Nobody wants to be the idiot that trades away Bedard or Michkov for a rental |

And yet, it’d be SO Vegas. |

Nothing personal, Vukota. But until Kadri signs somewhere, I just can’t promise you it’ll be okay. |

just for fun... If you take out Beau's rookie year where he really didn't play a ton and should have been sent back to juniors with Barzal.... His season stats for the next 6 are..
342 games with 87 goals and 81 assists. That is basically 21 goals average for a normal 82 games season and 40 points. Certainly not bad for a 24 year old winger. If like most players the next few seasons are his best season then you could end up with a 25-30 goal, 50 points player. Especially, if he has a coach who stops benching and scratching him after every bad shift. All of this goes without mentioning the HUGE goals he had in the playoffs including the last goal every scored by an Islander at Nassau...
yet, every day on these Islander's fans message boards one of you are constantly trading him.. This will be his best year and I will chirp sht to you morons every game.

You seem to be ignoring one very crucial fact. That being that Beauvillier is likely the only “expendable” Islander forward that any other team will actually have interest in trading for.
The vast majority of us don’t include him in trade ideas because we think he sucks. We include him because we recognize his value, while also recognizing that other teams have (almost certainly) zero (frank)ing interest in Bailey or Palmieri.

niteislander? Never!
All kidding aside it’s not like I want to send Beau packing. I just don’t think he’s as great as everyone else does. Like you already stated he’s the easiest to trade of the bunch… |
